The atmosphere is wonderful, in the middle of a forest, calmness, silence, beautiful starry nights, jungle sounds. The lodge has everything you need, well-equipped kitchen, comfortable bed, good wifi, everything is clean. It is very close, about a 20 minutes drive to Volcanoes National Park. I highly recommend to stay here if you visit Big Island. The hosts are so kind and helpful they really put their hearts and mind into this little lodge. Situated on the black sands of Kauai, the oldest of the Hawaiian Islands, these oceanfront cottages in Waimea have been restored with plantation-period furniture and feature patios overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Charming collection of old cottages on site fronting a quiet beach. The cottages are all slightly different, but well equipped, comfortable and clean. It is charming and understated . The details on the Booking.com site really undersell the property. There are beautiful sunsets and the grounds are lovely to walk in. The property does have an independently run restaurant and bar on site. Close to the Waimea Canyon, so you can get a morning head start on other visitors.

The property looks a dated from the outside but it is beautiful on the inside. We loved the fresh banana bread and fruit for breakfast. Very close to the volcanoes. As we were having breakfast another family told us the volcano had started erupting that morning so we raced down to see it.

The room was amazing, very spacious with even a small kitchen, and wonderful bathroom with a cave-style double shower. In the middle of the lush green surroundings, it was the best stay of our whole trip.
