Zur Alten Mine is situated 5 km outside of Graskop. Guests can walk around the dam in the gardens or hike up to the old mine.

We spent the last days of our holiday at Zur Alten Mine and it turned out to be a great choice! We stayed in a lovely lake-view cabin which was fully equipped with everything you can wish for during your stay. We chose for the served breakfast which was a delight with very tasteful, homemade products and freshly baked bread. The owner Rainer knows the region very well and gave us advise on sightseeing in the area and even on the best route and roads to the airport. Also: go for his restaurant suggestions! You won't regret it! It was definitely a nice end to our tour through South Africa.

The staff (Antoniette) and management were always helpful. We stayed only for a night but wished we could have stayed longer. We took some photos with zebras.

We had a great stay. It has breathtaking views from executive room. The rooms have excellent design, comfortable and clean. The hosts are nice. This lodge is a must-visit on a trip to Kruger park or back just for relaxing. I very rarely rate hotels as 10, but this is one of the few.

A terrace can be found at Umkumbe Safari Lodge Riverside, along with a shared lounge. Our stay couldn't have been better. The staff made us feel like home since minute 1. The game drives were absolutely amazing, our guide was very knowledgeable and we saw lots of animals. The reserve is in front of a river, we saw elefants and lions from the room. It's a bit on the pricey side, but I believe it's worth every penny.
