Just Wow! Amazing modern villa in the heart of the castle. Very friendly and helpful staff, beautiful room with all the facilities you could ask for. Everything was very clean and looked new. Beautifully and quietly located B&B, at the foot of 1 of the 2 old town quarters of the most beautiful town in Albania. In fact it is situated on the best side of the river because from the room you see the beautiful other old quarter with its '1000 windows' and the Berat castle. The owners are 3 awesome brothers that are all three of them architects, very kind and helpful! Free parking on walking distance. The room is small but is clean and offers the necessary comfort. Breakfast is prepared by a very kind lady and we were offered some great 'homegrown' red wine. We had 2 unforgettable last days of our 2 weeks' holiday in this beautiful country!

On the edge of Berat, just a short stroll from the old town’s cobbled charm, sits Villa Starova. The location is spot on. Within minutes you’re walking straight into the heart of the city. This newly renovated villa is run by an exceptionally welcoming host with a fondness for raki and a gift for generosity, supported by his very friendly and hard-working mother. We were greeted with a warm smile, a glass (or two, or more?) of his homemade raki and a spread of local snacks before being shown around. The tour of the villa, given by the owner himself, came with thoughtful explanations and a quiet pride in every detail. He also makes his own red wine, which he’s happy to share with guests. Another sign of the personal touch that runs through the whole stay. Inside, the villa feels both fresh and personal: clean lines, artfully displayed artifacts and a sense of calm that lingers in every corner. Our room was spotless and serene, with a comfortable double bed and great pillows. The shower was powerful and refreshing. Breakfast the next morning felt like an extension of the welcome: nicely presented, featuring house-made products that tasted of place and care. Another bonus: free parking is available right behind the villa, making it easy if you’re arriving by car. If you’re lucky enough to find a room available here, booking Villa Starova is a no-brainer. The price-to-quality ratio is excellent, and the host goes out of his way to share favorite local sights and restaurants. It’s the kind of stay that makes Berat feel even more alive.
