The parking was easy. The apartment had everything we needed except for washer. It was very clean. The bed was comfortable. The location has very nice surroundings. It is however not in the town centre which for us was an advantage.

All apartments include a fully equipped kitchen, ceramic hot plate and under floor central heating. Facilities include a thermal-heated swimming pool, poolside bar, shared barbecue facilities and laundry. Fresh milk and coffee making supplies were provided in the room. The private geothermal plunge pool was a unique and relaxing experience. The guest laundry facilities were convenient and clean. The location made it easy to walk along the shores of Lake Taupō.

The Central Motel & Lodge is just 5 minutes’ drive from the base of Mt Ruapehu, which boasts the Turoa Ski Resort and the Tongariro National Park. Ohakune Railway Station is 3 km away. Apparently the rooms were renovated 5 years ago but they are still spotless. Real quality in the kitchen, wonderful comfortable bed and the first bathroom on our trip that didn’t have some sort of issue, in fact it was super. Great location, super friendly and helpful hosts , I doubt there’s much better comfort and value in Okakune .
