Ryokan Asunaro: A Traditional Japanese Inn in Takayama. Nestled just a 6-minute walk from Takayama Station and the Nohi Bus Center, Ryokan Asunaro offers an authentic Japanese inn experience. We went as a group and we loved the ryokan. It was very spacious, everything was very clean, and it was conveniently located near the bus station, the train station, and the city center where most of the shopping takes place. The rooms were the most spacious we stayed in throughout Japan, and the staff were all very kind. I would definitely stay here again.

Niché au cœur des paysages paisibles des monts Hida, l'établissement traditionnel Miyama Ouan Kyoritsu Resort propose des bains d'eau de source chaude et une vue sur la nature, ainsi que des chambres... This was my third stay now and it keeps impressing me. Tranquil building, polite staff, excellent food and extras like drinks and snacks during the day. It is very relaxing and quiet inside and you can soak in the outside and inside bath as much as you want (private and public). Thank you again for the spontaneous pick up from the bus station when it started pouring. Can recommend at least 2 nights including dinner and breakfast and take your time to get out of the busy cities.

If you’re visiting Takayama, you MUST stay here. We had the most wonderful stay with the most wonderful hosts. I travel for work often, domestic and international, and typically stay at 4 and 5 star hotels. This is definitely among my favorite stays in my travels! We arrived shortly before check-in time and were greeted with tea, a snack, and warm blankets. The host sat down and showed us a map of all the best attractions in Takayama while we drank our tea. Our room and the entire ryokan were immaculately clean (very important to me) and super cozy. I actually looked forward to going back to the room each night to spend time near the coals or under the heated blanket table (the room has great AC and heat by the way). They also provided plenty of Japanese snacks, coffee, tea, incense, and even origami. The real reason you should stay here is because of the hospitality of the hosts and uniqueness of the experience. They were so happy to see us each time we arrived back at the property and were willing to answer any questions we had along the way. It was a treat to see them each day! Breakfast was included each day and you can choose a traditional Japanese style breakfast or a western style breakfast. I highly recommend trying the Japanese breakfast at least one day! It was intimidating for a westerner but is quite delicious and the staff will guide you through the whole experience. The onsen was perfect, so relaxing, and very clean. We went at the end of each day around 9 PM and there was no one in the onsen so it was basically private! The property is intimate and you don't need to worry about a lot of folks using the onsen at once. One note, the property is about a 20 minute walk from the main Takayama area but that wasn’t an issue for us. In fact it was perfect. It was so nice to wander through the side roads getting into and out of town. In fact, we came across more than one restaurant or sake brewery by just wandering around.

L’établissement Tajimi Guest House se trouve à Tajimi, à 33 km de ce lieu d’intérêt : Centre commercial Oasis 21. L'accueil est formidable. Notre hôte Sujuro est venue nous chercher à la gare. La chambre était très confortable avec une décoration raffinée. De nombreux livres sur la céramique très intéressants. Calme absolu et très dépaysant. L'emplacement est un peu éloigné du centre de Tajimi mais Sujuro a été disponible et nous a conduit ou recherché à plusieurs sites. Donc cela a été facile. Le dernier jour Sujuro nous a déposé à la gare en 10/15 mn.

Staying here felt like stepping into the heart of traditional Japan. The ryokan’s peaceful atmosphere and the beautiful onsen made it a truly unforgettable experience — one of the highlights of our entire trip. The rooms were elegant and comfortable, the hosts incredibly kind and welcoming, and every meal was a feast — beautifully prepared and full of flavor. Thank you for the wonderful memories. L’établissement Minshuku Takizawa se trouve à Takayama, à 29 km de ce lieu d’intérêt : Vallée de Kamikōchi. Il offre une vue sur la montagne. The hosts were exceptionally helpful. You get private access to the Onsen which are very well maintained. And the traditional Japanese food was delicious.
