the location was quiet and so relaxing. Host Bob was so very welcoming and shared his great knowledge of the area and pointed us in the directions of some beautiful sights. the home has everything you could need to relax, rest and enjoy the lovely Courtenay area. thanks Bob, your kind welcome and guidance really made our stay something special.

Everything starting from the time when Verra welcomed me till my check out when she woke up early around 4.30 Am in the morning just to make sure to drop me at the airport on time. I really appreciate that. The place honestly it deserve more than one night very quiet with a beautiful view I just love it.

We had an absolutely wonderful time at Emily’s house! The house is not only beautiful and very cozy, but also perfectly equipped with everything you could possibly need – and spotlessly clean. We also enjoyed sitting outside on the terrace and simply taking in the peaceful atmosphere. What truly makes Velvet Fern Guesthouse special is the thoughtful and loving attention to detail: everything was personally and carefully prepared for our arrival, including a lovely breakfast and bikes we could use – such a kind touch! Staff were exceptional, excellent coffee in the lobby and rooms look great after the reno. I work remotely and had to do some zoom meetings from the room, perfectly setul to work from and relax in. Huge TV and lovely shower... I would highly recommend for such a great price.

The room was spacious and comfortable, stunning view from our 4th floor window and it even had a coffee machine which was just a lovely touch. The breakfast was the best continental/hot breakfast combo options I experienced during my trip through Vancouver Island. They even had a pool which was such a treat after 2 weeks traveling. Loved the place. Stunning areas like Campbell River, Oyster River and Elk Falls are less than an hour's from there.

The beds were very comfortable. Pillows were clean ( very important to me!). Room was clean & well appointed. It was nice & quiet.
