A perfect room for a family with small kids. The panoramic view is amazing. There is a hiking path to the lake of Murten just underneath the hotel. 20 minutes drive to Papiliorama, if you want to be there early. The best is to be at Papiliorama as soon as it opens in the morning. The breakfast is delicious and the staff is very friendly and accommodating.

We loved staying at the quaint little ‘Ofenhaus’! It was everything we expected, based on the Booking.com description, and maybe even a bit better. :) The cleanliness was exemplary! I really am quite exacting concerning hygiene — and this place was literally spotless! The whole place smelt of fresh laundry when we walked in — it really doesn’t get any better than that! The water temperature and pressure in the shower are great! Since both my husband & I have long, luxurious hair, this is a crucial point for us. Many holidays have been ruined, alas, because of bad (cold, weak) showers — but not at the ‘Ofenhaus’! Everything works to perfection! The location is really quiet & calm, but the beautiful medieval town of Murten can be reached on foot (via a short walk of 1km). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and would definitely book the ‘Ofenhaus’ again if we happened to stay in the area in the future!

+ comfortable spacious apartment (we were 2 families - 4 adults and 4 kids) + beautiful view + good connection to bus and train (you get the Neuchatel card which gets you free transport and also some activities) + nice location in Hauterive - close to the beaches/playgrounds and some restaurants - great spot for leisure + very nice and flexible owners

    Lovely warm welcome! Great meal, fantastic breakfast and beautiful setting. Lady in charge was lovely and very friendly. Rooms were very clean and easy to access from lower car park.

    Everything about the Hotel was excellent. The location was stunning, great parking, well equipped and comfortable room with stunning views. Both the evening meal and breakfast taken outside on a terrace overlooking the lake and alps in the background, were excellent . The staff were excellent too with attentive hosts and Olga the breakfast waitress is an asset, welcomong, friendly, attentive and excellent at her job.

    About our party, single dad travelling with one kid under 12. The room was very clean and fresh, equipped with fridge, dishes and cutlery so you can have your breakfast outside. Fresh towels and clean dishes/cutlery offered every day. Free parking for our car available in front of the yard. The host was extremely accommodating and flexible to our needs. We had a fantastic time visiting around places like Bern, Freiburg, Lausanne.
