The perfect stay if you are on the way to tortuguero. Only 15 minutes away from the boats. The owners are super nice and even helped me solve a problem with my car. The place itself is also very nice and cozy!

As everyone says, Carlos is the best!!! From the communication to the attention, Carlos ensured our first time to Tortuguero was a great experience. He had a river boat agent, Christian, be on the lookout for us at La Pavona to start the journey. Carlos met us at the Tortuguero dock, helped us to the apartment, and welcomed us with his empanadas. Carlos introduced us to an excellent guide, a born local and educated naturalist, Boa, who provided a fantastic canoe tour and park tour that were insightful, educational, and personal. Boa also speaks excellent English and is fluent in Spanish, French, and Japanese. We were also lucky to see 3 giant green turtles nesting on the beach with a night guide. Carlos and his wife lived right next door and provided daily attention above expectations. The apartment had great AC and all of our basic needs were met. A family friendly area that felt very safe. Thank you Carlos!

Magical place, next level nature/jungle experience. Lots of wildlife (herons, toekans, pizote, owls, frogs, caymans, lizards ...), exotic plants and ancient trees. Beautiful nature soundtrack.The staff is very friendly and Hiner is a generous and knowledgeable guide and host. Excellent food. I enjoyed two longer daytime walks, a nightwalk and a boat excursion. Enjoyed every second of it, pura vida.

Super cute and helpful hosts. Even though we don’t speak Spanish. Wasn’t a problem to talk via Google translate and they helped us to get to La Pavona at the next day! Perfekt for staying before going to Tortuguero
