Lovely location right on the Nile and in the center of the lovely Nubian village. Our room was large and spacious and the balcony looking over the Nile was superb. It was so nice to relax there with a coffee and watch the activity.on the river. Samir the manager is very kind and helpful. The first night there was a storm and he prepared food for us to eat in our room. The second night we ate in the restaurant and the food was delicious. Upon arrival we were offered a welcome drink and our Abu Simbel trip was well organised with breakfast to take with us ( and beautiful). Internet at this hotel was the best we had in our entire 14 day stay travelling in Egypt . This is a charming little hotel , beautiful traditional decor, great staff. We would stay again

We stayed in several places during our travels through Egypt and by far Habib was the best host one can have. Our train was delayed and he let us check in later. He told us the best and cheapest option to explore Abu Simbel. Breakfast, food and the staff was amazing! And at the end he sent our bags to the ferry since we were in rush... Again! Thank you very much for this great hospitality

Everything!! The staff are so friendly and go the extra mile to make your stay enjoyable. Mohammed is on hand for all questions whether on WhatsApp or in person. The food on the roof terrace is wonderful, no better setting to enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner (where you can watch the sun go down behind the Aga Khan's mausoleum). Love the personal touch of a private boat to bring to and from island. The beds were comfy and there was lots of storage space. Everyone leaves their doors open, it's THAT safe there. The people in the village are all super friendly and no one bothers you as a tourist. The kids are cute as anything. My favourite bit are the cute cats, one in particular that just loves people and just wants cuddles all day, so sitting on the veranda with her snuggled purring in my lap as the sun went down was the cherry on top!! Keep it up Elephantine Island and Basmatic GH, we will be back!!

We had a 2 week trip to Egypt, on our own. This hotel was the best. We spent 2 nights here and remember it with great pleasure. The hotel is located on the island of Elephantine and we were pleased with it. Peaceful location with beautiful views but still easy to get to main Aswan, only 5 minutes by public ferry. We had a lovely room with a nice view of the Nile (1st row by the river)! Historic fortress with incredible sunsets and Bob Marley's restaurant on the island within walking distances. Such a welcoming and caring host! The host helped us with excursions in Aswan. The historic coffee making appliance in the lobby was an unforgettable experience )). We will recommend the hotel to all our friends.

    Best value in Aswan if not Egypt. Opted for a Tent with Futon on the roof, which provided a wonderful view of the Nile and southern section of Elephant island . Very good breakfast and ample parking . Its a 15/20 minute walk to the Nile and Souk area of Aswan.

    The hotel is on the island, opposite the pier near KFC. The one-way ferry fee is 10P per person in peak season. Our car was parked in the parking lot near KFC, and there were often no parking spaces at night. The house itself is clean and tidy and the staff are friendly.
