Wonderful views in all directions in probably the best hotel in the area of Ushba. Very friendly staff with excellent manager, cooks and other staff. The owner, Marlen and his wife are always ready to help and can arrange for any requirement, including travel, horse riding, excursions, guiding and, amazingly, traditional Svaneti dancing lessons in the premises of the hotel itself, using an ex-professional Georgian dancer and instructor! Nargiz and Natasha in the kitchen and hotel premises have also been extremely helpful and friendly, with excellent cooking and also providing washing machine for laundry.

The host is super friendly. He found for us several taxi-drivers and price for their servise was low than you could take negotiating with drivers on a bus station. If you haven't enough time but desire to see as many attraction as it's possible you have to deal with drivers. So the host saved our money in some extent)

I spent 4 days hiking to Ushguli and then got a matruska back to Mestia. I thought to myself that I needed someplace luxurious to stay for the night. I'm happy to say that my experience at Hotel gold tower exceeded my expectations I was first greeted by the warm smile of the lovely manager Sofia, who ensured my every request was catered for. The bed was heavenly for my tired muscles after the long difficult hike through the mountains! When I awoke I found one of the tastiest breakfasts I have ever enjoyed, waffles with berries, assortments of spreads, hot food and Khachapuri.

We had a very good stay with Inga. She is really friendly, we had a nice chat with her. We were able to use the kitchen to cook dinner, and she made us try her homemade bread and jam, it was delicious. Nice and cosy living room area. Comfortable bedroom, warm. Clean bathroom. Located only 2 minutes walk from the main road but in a quiet street which made for a perfect night of sleep. Also possibility to leave your backpack there if you are doing any long treks Definitely recommend, she also put us in touch with her friend in Zhabeshi where we also had a great night.
