Once we found our way to Vista Lago from the funicular, we were treated to a warm reception by our host, Chiara. Once we were checked in, she offered us drinks on their second-floor terrace, which had a lovely view of Como and the lake below. It was late in the afternoon, and we were relaxing from a long train ride, but Chiara suggested the Hotel Bella Vista down the street for dinner, and offered to make reservations for us on their outdoor terrace. Her timing was impeccable, because the restaurant was already crowded when we arrived, but we enjoyed a table with a spectacular evening view. We enjoyed generous breakfasts in a lovely historic dining room. We had a very comfortable room with a spectacular view of the lake and city below, and the distant mountains above the low clouds the next morning. Brunate is a very quaint, quiet village that overlooks Como far below, but with the funicular is quite convenient to everything in Como, especially the tour boats and ferries that sail up Lake Como. We very much enjoyed our stay here, and this was due mainly to the efforts of our gracious host, Chiara, who was our favorite host of all those we met during our 2-week vacation.

A great place for the money! The view is excellent, the staff is super polite and pleasant. I asked a lot of clarifying questions, and the girl was very responsive! The hotel is situated slightly high on the mountain, but they provide a comfortable transfer. Super, don't hesitate, book it!

    The view from our balcony was spectacular, the hotel is near the funicular entrance so it is easy to go down to Como. The staff were amazing, informative, welcoming, friendly and helpful. Car parking can be arranged by the hotel. Breakfast was ample, there is a bar open until 20:00 and a restaurant open for lunch only, however there are plenty of options for dinner, including a snack on that wonderful balcony!

    The host and staff were very friendly. The car parking was taken care of, as we were able to park the car on the terrace after removing all tables and chairs :-) we really enjoyed driving uphill through narrow and steep streets, but we can imagine not everybody is up for this challange.
