I had the chance to see the inn before the renovation and meet Nao San. Nao San is a great host. The inn is beautiful and clean. The scenery around the it is wonderful and everyone, workers and visitors were friendly and welcoming!! I promise to come back and see the place after the renovation ;)

Located right beside the river in the center of Kinosaki Onsen, this beautiful hotel combines the traditional style of Japanese ryokans with modern design elements, creating a unique atmosphere. Our room was spacious, well equipped and made us feel welcome immediately. While the famous public onsens of Kinosaki are just around the corner due to the central location of Kobayashiya, the three private onsen rooms inside the ryokan present an ideal opportunity to start the day in a relaxing fashion or simply enjoy some privacy in between. The Kaiseki (dinner menu) and breakfast were included in our stay and we would highly recommend adding the option. The dishes were carefully prepared with fresh, local ingredients (especially the fish and seafood) and present the perfect opportunity to experience and savor traditional, Japanese cuisine. It was definitely a highlight of our trip to Japan. We would especially like to highlight the service provided during our stay. From the moment you arrive, everything is being taken care of, from providing the complimentary Yukatas and assisting you in dressing appropriately, taking the time to introduce and explain to you the dinner and breakfast menus, explaining everything about Kinosaki and its onsen culture or simply taking care of your room. You can simply relax and enjoy yourself.

I have no words to fully describe the amazing experience I had. From the check-in till the checkout all the employees where amazing into all aspects, letting everything prepared beforehand for the check-in, with the room selected, clear instructions about the facilities, the tour in the hotel and showing how to use the installation, the welcome hand made message with Origamis in the room, the amazing hotel Onsen (which for me was even better than the ones around the city), kimono selection and the support to understand how to use that, the delicious food that the waiter had an special attention and patience to tech me how to eat king crab... It was more than a stay as I said it was a full experience that I will sure experience again in the future :) thanks to all the team for the dedication, sympathy and care that you provided into all the steps of this experience:)

The Best Ryokan I have ever been ! Very well located. The staff is super friendly, the "room book" in english is very well done and personnal. The 3 onsen at floor 1 are so great ! The futon was really confortable, especialy the comfy blanket ! 10/10 for the whole stay !

There was a spectacular view from our room across the river, the onsen has an inside and outside onsen. The volume of food served in our room was impressive as was the range in the buffet for breakfast. You have a free pass to all of the public onsen and they are all diverse so try them all! Extremely good service, very beautiful lobby and our japanese styled room was both fancy and cosy. Dinner served to room was great experience and delicious and server was helpful guiding us with the food. Private onsen was highlight of our stay.     There was no parking area in/near the hotel. The staff helped us to park at an area rather far away when we reached hence we were confused and very concerned. It was stated in the website that parking was available. When we wanted to drive out the same night we arrived, the staff fetched us to the car park where our car was. We were relieved thereafter - and happy with the transport service offered to and from the car park area.

    1. They have a free car park space onsite. 2. They provide free shuttle bus that runs from 4 pm to 10pm to take guests/pick up to/from the town centre where all the public onsens and shops located. 3. The hotel has its own private onsen. After trying both the hotel's and one of the public onsens, I like the hotel's onsen better as it was not crowded as the public one. 4. The breakfast they served was good. We quite enjoyed it. 5.     Friendly staff greeted us warmly when we arrived. Treated us like family. Room was huge and well decorated. Clean facilities and exceptional service. We were escorted to the parking lot by car and also sent us there when we checked out. Warm personal attention given to us. Staff spoke very little English but were patient and understood us (Hint: Google Translate). We will return.
