I really enjoyed my stay at Royal Lion Hotel. The room was large, clean, and had a very comfortable bed. Waking up to the beautiful mountain view was just perfect. The staff were super nice and helpful throughout my stay. Breakfast was delicious and fresh every morning. Highly recommended for a relaxing and scenic getaway!

This is the most incredible hotel. The views are simply breathtaking and the hospitality of the staff is absolutely overwhelming. Mr Thilak, hotel manager, and his team took care of every detail during our 2 day stay with them. We were travelling with young children (age 3 & 6) and they were so accommodating and kind it was really heartwarming. Small things like our eldest mentioned how he wanted to try a King Coconut at some point during his stay in Sri Lanka, and the next morning at breakfast, the team had thoughtfully carved two for the kids, in the shape of a mouse, so they could try the refreshing coconut water. Mr Thilak also arranged for a short cooking class for us to make our own Hoppers for breakfast, it was a great and interactive experience- especially for the kids. The food menu was brilliant for families, which was something we were a little worried about hearing stories from friends, but here there was even a kids menu here and lots of things our boys enjoyed. Our stay happened to fall over International Women's Day, and I was stopped in the afternoon and presented with a rose and a small gift to celebrate the event. It was so thoughtful. The swimming pool at the hotel is amazing, with views from the pool, restaurant and lobby that will literally take your breath away. Surprise visits from the local monkeys were also fun! We had a driver for our trip and also took the chance to visit Kandy which took us about 1 hour... worth the trip to see some of the famous sights, though I must say we were happy to return to serenity of Greenacres after a full on day of busy city life. We were so sad when it came time to leave, and would truly reccomend anyone travelling to Sri Lanka to brave the jungle path to the hotel and absorb the beautiful setting, wonderful views and warm Sri Lankan hospitality. Above all, the hotel has the most incredible staff with the closest attention to detail and we would truly like to thank them all for their fabulous service!

When you walk through the gates of Flame Tree Estate you are greeted by a little slice of heaven and a big dose of serenity. Flame Tree ticks all the boxes you would hope for and then a few more that you didn't expect, but it's something else that stands out about this beautiful property and its graceful service. It gives you something that can't be described but can be truly felt (in Australia we would say "it gives you all of the feels"). Fair to say we adored FTE. We travelled as a party of 5 (myself & my husband, our 6 month old daughter and my parents) and were so gently and warmly cared for throughout our 4 nights stay. Service was effortless and the food was generous, delicious and complex in all the right ways. We found value for money to be exceptional in comparison to all other properties during our Sri Lankan adventures. Thank you Flame Tree for your hospitality. We can't wait to meet you again soon.

This place is stunning, with a lovely setting amongst the jungle. The manager is a fantastic host and cook, and we enjoyed breakfast, lunch and dinner while here. We stayed in the more basic room which was simple but nice. If you can afford to, we recommend booking one of the more deluxe rooms to make the most of your stay! The location is fairly remote, making it the perfect place to unwind, rather than a base for sight seeing (in our opinion)😊

In one word - Peacefull. The stay was awesome, with the best climate, cleanliness and Great hospitality. The surrounding with the natural water pool was calm and lovely. Thank you for the Uncle who stays there, who will take care of you like a family memeber.

Amazing place in a beautiful location

A very beautiful and cozy place in the middle of the mountain rainforest, there are tea and coffee plantations nearby. Very friendly staff, excellent cuisine.

Quite good located, and the the facilities are really modern and clean. Breakfast in the outdoor terrace with views to the lake and the temple are amazing.
