We loved the location. The two caretakers (Veeru and Roshan) do an excellent job of managing the property and making you feel welcome. Food was great. The sunrise kissing the mountaintops was exceptional.

What not to like? Perfect stay at Sama Al-Khutaim, thanks to Mohsin, who made sure that we were taken care of. The hotel (or the guest house, rather) is a few yards away from the start of the Balcony Walk, the main attraction. We loved the fact that there were very few guests staying (3 rooms only), as it gave a family vibe, which was really nice. The food we had for dinner and breakfast was tasty and plentiful. Can only recommend! Careful! You must have a 4WD to reach the hotel. A normal car won't go up those hills and rough terrain!

I wasn't sure what to expect from this hotel but I was absolutely blown away when we arrived! It is well-designed and absolutely gorgeous. Each room has an uninterrupted majestic view of the mountains and valley. The bathtub is divine. The swimming pool is gorgeous and the perfect temperature. The gardens and the landscaping were beautiful. The staff are very kind and helpful. Breakfast and dinner were plentiful and had many options, including for vegetarians. It is definitely worth coming for sunset! (I got up at sunrise also, but it was too foggy to see much). The stargazing is also ample. We also really enjoyed walking around the village of Al Hamra in the valley below.

The Boss and staff at this Guest House were incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The rooms were immaculate and very comfortable Washroom as well We also enjoyed the delicious breakfast morning and loved the convenient location close to major attractions .

Great Location; beautiful view; good breakfast; very very friendly and helpful owner. My little daughter and I got sick and the very young owner Hamza did everything possible to make us feel better and comfortable, checking on us often, providing medicine and making sure we could extend our stay nearby. He really is always with his guests making sure everyone is fine, he seems to be one heart and one soul with this place.

This is not just some accommodation, this is home. Emina made us feel very welcomed at her house and along with the unique architecture, the surroundings and also other lovely guests, this was an experience we will never forget. Wish we had more time to spend here. We spent one night on our way from Muscat to Jebel Shams. The rooms are simple but clean, the bathroom was well equipped. Incredible views waited for us on the rooftop along with pet dogs making us company. I have to admit the breakfast was rather smaller/simpler but everybody has different taste, so it’s hard to please all. Hoping to come sometime again!
