Amazing location surrounded by trees, stunning huge huts with palm leaf roof, air con, massive bed, showers were lush and each hut had their own outside plunge pool on decking along with sun beds - ours wasn’t overlooked and was surrounded by trees and overlooked the river. There was also a beautiful infinity pool, bar and restaurant. Staff were brilliant.

It is easy to mingle around without getting lost inside the hotel. I didn’t use the spa which seem amazing but I am definitely coming back and that will be one of the things I won’t miss. 🥰

Guests can enjoy the on-site bar with a terrace. Wow! what a location; it’s an adventure gettimg there…but absolutely worth it. Solo traveler; the Masaya team does a great job w activities, chill music, places to be solo and place to be w others, communal later dinners, and just very cheerful folks who take care of the lodge, the food, and the folks to a recognizable degree. Playa del Ritmo is 8 km from Santa Marta’s historic centre and a 10-minute drive from Simon Bolivar airport. Free private parking is possible on site. I LOVED this hostel, the beach was great without any waves, not a lot of people, very calm water. The breakfast was delish, the food and drinks sold at the bar were very good, a bit pricey but not too bad. I will stay here everytime I visit Santa Marta. Do keep in mind that it's like 15/20 min drive to the center of Santa Marta, but taxis are cheap.

I love that the people is very kind and warm. The place is close to the airport, it's nice and you feel secure. The beach is only few steps from the hotel, with a calm and wonderful sea. I enjoy the food from the hotel's restaurant. For me is important not only a tasteful food, but also well prepared. The menu offers several options. I recommend it. Also the breakfast is super!. The pool after a day in the beach is great. The hotel's personal call you by name, and they are always with a smile. I hope to come back again with my family the next year.

Situated in El Zaino, 500 metres from Castilletes Beach, Zirwa Hotel Boutique - Dentro del Parque Tayrona features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. Each accommodation at the 4-star hotel has mountain views and free WiFi. The property is non-smoking and is set 35 km from Quinta de San Pedro Alejandrino. We arrived late afternoon which meant our room was ready straight away. The hotel were helpful in advance letting us of the park entrance ticket booth closing time which meant we arrived before closing time (5pm). The hotel is beautiful, the views are fantastic and the sky was clear both nights we were there which meant we could stargaze from our terrace. It was super quiet and peaceful. Right by one of the main entrances to the park, easy to find and very easy to start our hike into the park early in the morning. They have a pingpong table and board games in the dining room which were fun to play in the evenings too. We will be back!

El Santuario was the perfect home base for exploring Minca! Nora and José Luis have obviously put a lot of love into their hotel- they were exceptionally kind and provided us with everything we needed during our stay. We split three rooms between 5 friends, which was totally comfortable for us. We started every morning taking in the stunning views while enjoying a delicious home cooked breakfast- the birdwatching is unparalleled to any place I’ve visited before! It’s a quick 10 minute drive to the center of Minca- we had a car, but the hotel will happily arrange a mototaxi for you, which I took advantage of as i chose to stay an extra night after my travel mates departed. We ended our evenings using the ample common areas to sip tequila and reflect on our adventures. The evenings were cool enough that we wouldn’t have used a/c even if it was available. Of course there are some bugs, but what else would you expect staying in a rustic town in the middle of the jungle?? Other reviewers noting this as a con are obviously unused to accommodations that strive to be as ecologically mindful as possible to their natural environments.
