First of all Yuki was so nice to pick us up at the bus station, which was a great help because we had heavy luggage! Secondly the sharing space, garden and rooms are beautiful, to which we were happily surprised. But to our biggest amazement, Yuki gave us all the information we needed before going to the islands Teshima and Naoshima. And without her help the trip wouldn’t have been the same:)

Free Wi-Fi is available at the public areas and guests can relax in the public baths. JR Kurashiki Train Station is a 10-minute walk away. This was a very special place to stay- I think possibly the best hosted experience I have ever had. It is a traditional ryokan and so I expected the courteous welcome and the room to be laid out with a futon while I ate, as well as a lovely ‘ofuro’ bath. However my expectations were exceeded because the staff gave a truly warm and welcoming, homely service - I really felt as if I were a guest in someone’s home. Everything was explained in detail so that I could appreciate the flowers, the history of the town, best places to visit, the local art gallery (they even have local artwork in the hotel) and of course the ‘Kaiseki Ryori’ (formal many course meal). I was quite sad to leave. Nothing was too much trouble and I felt like a ‘respected guest’ - thank you so much!
