Beautiful nature, location in old Coconut estate, lot's of animals, including wild boars and hornbills. The nature however comes with a price - it's far from any settlement, so either opt in for their dinner (very tasty but paid extra) or eat on the way. The personnel was helpful, the pool was clean and accessible even late at night, there was a lot of extra facilities which we didn't use but they are there (pool, speakers, bar, hammock etc). The bed was equipped with big mosquito net. Also besides AC there is a ceiling fan, which some may prefer. We hope to come again one day for a longer stay.

We had a really lovely stay at Pearly‘s! Ranjan the owner organized a cheap tour to the Knuckles Mountains by TukTuk for us. He also joined us to show us all the beautiful places over there. We went to a waterfall where we were able to go swimming and we also enjoyed the nice views. For breakfast we had typicall Sri Lankan food and also some Western options. Pearly the owners wife prepared everything for us. After that we were able to have a look into their home and talked about different topics. Our highlight was when Ranjan took us to local spice shops where we bought really cheap vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg. We enjoyed everything about our stay there. Thanks for having us! P.S.: The sunrise from the terrace was stunning and there were many monkeys to see.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful, nature-surrounded retreat and honestly, I wish I could have stayed longer. The entire experience was incredibly calming — nestled in the heart of nature, the serenity of the surroundings was just what we needed to unwind. What truly stood out, though, was the staff. Sydney, the General Manager, Kasun the Butler, the Chef and the entire team went above and beyond to accommodate my partner’s dietary restrictions, ensuring every meal was safe, delicious, and thoughtfully prepared. The food was outstanding, fresh, and full of flavour, easily some of the best we’ve had while travelling. Their attention to detail and genuine care made us feel incredibly supported and welcomed. The rooms were spacious, clean, and beautifully designed to blend in with the natural setting. We woke up to the sounds of birds and the rustling of trees — a rare and peaceful experience. We had a lovely stay at Jay’s. He is a great host and his sister is an excellent chef. They made us a great dinner and breakfast with vegetables from their own garden. We often read ‘the best curry’ in many reviews, but I can truly say that this where the best meals we had during our trip in Sri Lanka (and we had many good meals).

The hotel is located in a scenic location bordering a beautiful Paddy field. We were able to reach the place in 10 minutes from the Kurunegala Clock Tower. The tuktuk charged us two dollars for it. The staff welcomed us very warmly and prepared everything we needed. There is a restaurant serving Sri Lankan and Chinese food at affordable prices. They are very tasty. But a bit spicy. They charged us a very reasonable price for the bottle of wine we got at this restaurant, which had both local and foreign liquor. They also provided free laundry service, and they were kind enough not to charge us anything for morning tea. Although there are a few things that need to be improved, we are indebted to them for providing us with a fair and valuable accommodation for the money they charged us.
