We had the best time at the Hong Qi hotel. If you are looking to stay somewhere peaceful but not too far from the town then I highly recommend it. The Hong Qi hotel will loan you pushbikes free of charge so you have the opportunity to take a short but beautiful cycle ride into the town or you can cycle around the National park and fully immerse yourself into the beauty of the landscape and culture. Be prepared to cycle next to elephants! It was an experience we will never forget. Such a beautiful place and everyone is so friendly and welcoming. Krishna and his team did a great job at making us feel welcome and at home throughout our stay. All the food was freshly prepared. There was a hot shower. Air con and a fan. A beautiful view from the balcony. We stayed longer than planned because it was so nice. We will definitely we back in future. Thank you Hong Qi hotel!

After a long journey, we were greeted with refreshing welcome drinks and cold towels, and even picked up directly from the bus station—a thoughtful touch that set the tone for our stay. Milan, the concierge, truly went above and beyond. He was the most attentive and caring concierge we’ve ever met, providing invaluable information before, during, and even after our stay. He took care of everything, from arranging free transport to the bus station and visits to the elephant breeding centers, to organizing our onward travel and bus tickets. His dedication to ensuring our experience was seamless and stress-free was truly remarkable. The hotel’s own safari guide, Raj, was another highlight. Amazing stay! It was like being at home. We felt very comfortable, the family is very warm and kind and they make sure you have everything you need. The location is amazing, surrounded by nature in a quiet place, exactly what we were looking for. Also they have a very nice garden to hang out. The wifi is very good. A very big plus for us was that sometimes we could cook our own meals, which after some months of traveling in India we really missed. Thank you so much for this very special stay :)

Raj was a fantastic host, as he makes all his guests feel so welcome, as if they are long-time friends, or even part of his family. He goes out of his way to make sure that everyone has the best time and experience all the joys that Chitwan has to offer. On your first day he will take you on a free walk through the buffer zone where you might even get lucky enough to see some wildlife! The guides for the jeep safari were wonderful, too. B was our guide and he was warm and kind with a fun attitude and so much knowledge about the animals and the park in general. He and the driver Parkas had great eyes for spotting and pointing out a variety of different birds, creatures, foot prints, tree-scratch-marks, and even let us taste fruit from a tree along the road. They sent us the videos and photos from our safari so we could have the high quality stuff, too. Raj was so great that he even called us once we reached Kathmandu just to make sure we had made it safely. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend staying anywhere else. This is the true Nepali kindness that made us want to stay forever!
