The hosts, Rudi and Maria were fantastically hospitable and helpful, which I needed as I was a solo traveler on a stressful mission! Rudi arranged for me to hire a scooter and spent hours teaching me to ride it. Maria invited me to her grandmother’s birthday (the food was delicious!) and prepared extra evening meals for me when I stayed in. Very touched by their generosity!

Very nice place. Super nice and friendly people. Make sure to ask about the sunrise and sunset mountains. They are both about 15 min away on foot and the views are great!

View was phenomenal. Truly overlooking Loon and sunset is amazing. Food is very yummy - constant stream of locals so it is also very well liked by others (reco the pizza!!) and rooms are very comfortable. AC and private bathrooms are always an added plus in hostels! Managed to meet owner Dave who is very friendly and offered tips about travelling to Cabilao (stayed in loon as it was near Cabilao). Wifi is very strong at cafe and room too. Very family vibes! Would reco to anyone in the area!! If I could stay longer, would've totally extended my stay here!!

First and foremost, the owners/host are wonderful! They will treat you like family while staying in Jolits. They serve delicious hot choco and vegetarian dishes. The host will give you tips, even accompany you to beautiful places that are not offered in paid tours. I love the place's sustainable approach to farming and lodging. The accommodation is very humble, but the customer service beat those that are offered in five-star hotels. We love this place!
