Fenqihu is one of the larger villages in the Alishan area, has enough food facilities and has some lovely walks of cedar and bamboo trails. Easy to walk to bus stop and train station. But the bus and train schedules to other villages/areas are very limited and specific, and need to be very carefully studied and coordinated for the solo traveller; otherwise much time is lost waiting for buses and one can be stranded without transport back.
