Really liked the touch of putting your name on a list on check-in to have a wake up call when the northern lights were active. Amazing views of the northern lights and very good value for money. Breakfast was lovely, great variety, something for everyone.

The accommodation features a hot tub, free WiFi throughout the property and family rooms. What a beautiful property surrounded by mountains and a small waterfall. We were pleasantly surprised by the side of the cottage, it was much bigger than we expected. The front porch area was all glass windows and doors with amazing views and a hot tub and there was a deck with a grill as well. The kitchen had everything we needed, even a waffle maker. This was my kids' favorite place, they loved the hot tub (no jets), the soccer field and small playground outside as well as walking up the hill near the waterfall. The lollipops on their pillows were also a great surprised for them. :) It was very relaxing and we enjoyed our stay.

Tjörn is a recently renovated guest house in Hvammstangi, where guests can make the most of its garden and shared lounge. The property features mountain and garden views. The host, the house, the coziness, the position in front of the ocean, we could see an amazing show of northern nights. Olga, the host, is incredibly kind and nice; we had a last minute change of plans because of the weather and our northern lights chase and despite of the very short notice of our request she was so flexible and accommodating. The house is amazingly decorated, you really feel like home and honestly if we wouldn’t have had so less time during our trip, we would have loved to relax there some more days. Absolutely recommended!! 🩷

This beachfront property offers access to a terrace, free private parking and free WiFi. The property is non-smoking and is set 9 km from Myvatn Nature Baths. Such a lovely cosy apartment with windows all round and overlooking Lake Myvatn. It was the perfect place to relax and hope to see the Northern Lights from the big balcony outside. The place was thoughtfully designed as open plan with nice touches such as candles and rugs. The underfloor heating was very efficient and plenty of kitchenware plus oven, stovetop, microwave, washing machine etc. We had looked at slightly cheaper options nearby but I think it was worth paying a little extra for this one. Would highly recommend!

There is a sun terrace and guests can make use of free WiFi and free private parking. Karuna Guesthouse was one of the most beautiful spots where I did spend the night. I got very lucky by choosing a double bed room in off season and got a whole studio icluding own bathroom! for myself, which I didn't expect to get. The kitchen was very clean and you got everything you need for cooking/cleaning/separating your garbage. The dining/breakfast/chill out area in the house was awesome and had a modern spacious design, you got a panoramic view into the night sky with big big windows. There was a hot tub and sauna for free. Couldn't be more happy with all this!

Located within 2.6 km of Myvatn Nature Baths, Birkilauf in Myvatn has a number of amenities, including lake and mountain views. With a terrace, the property also features a shared lounge and a fully-equipped kitchen. It's among beautiful greens and lava fields. The common area is spacious and comfy. There are plenty of stuff to make breakfast/quick snack. Joana is super friendly and helpful when we checked in.

Grásteinn Guesthouse features a private beach area, garden, barbecue facilities and shared lounge in Þórshöfn. This guest house provides free private parking and luggage storage space. Guests can make use of outdoor furniture if they wish to dine or sit outside. Such a cute house and room! Room was big and bed was comfy. The husband and wife owning this guesthouse were absolutely wonderful! We recieved an amazing breakfast with homemade fresh bread. Got to say hi to the cute dogs of the farm as well. Would highly reccomend!

Our host was an incredibly warm and welcoming woman that made us feel right at home. The breakfast is homemade, delicious and varied. The accommodation is beautiful and you can tell a lot of thought was put into it. Can't recommend this place enough!

Located in Varmahlid in the North Iceland region, Midsitja features a patio and mountain views. The property has river and garden views. It is a bit isolated, at 1-2 km from the ring road, with nothing but nature around, making it very quiet. The room is like a small chalet, with a large window next to the bed. As it snowed in the night we stayed, the view from the bed was really nice. The owner was very considerate and we had a smooth communication. Also, he left us a souvenir for good luck, which we really appreciated. In the fridge we had some snack for breakfast or for the road. In a nutshell, we loved this nice, warm and welcoming place.
