The staff took such good care of us from the moment we arrived, Suji, Jay and Sana especially, but everyone was so kind and helpful. They have a small van to easily drive you into town or to activities and to pick you up whenever you’re finished. Sana recommended several local activities and took us to beautiful photo spots. The hotel room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the view of Lion Rock our bed was magical. There is a restaurant on site and the pool was refreshing after hiking up Lion Rock on a hot day. Seriously one of the best places we’ve ever stayed! 10/10

The property is non-smoking and is set 5.8 km from Pidurangala Rock. Location and accommodation was dreamy. A cabana in the jungle and a swimming pool in addition. Wonderful and nice owner who is very helpful. Dinner and breakfast was another highlight. I can only recommend staying there - it is on top only a 15 minute walk to Sigiriya rock.

It's a simple place, they clean everyday and make you great breakfast. Be careful because it's almost impossible to stay just one night, I had to extend my stay twice. I will miss this place!

During our two and a half week trip through Sri Lanka, the Lion Gate Hotel was the best accommodation we stayed in. Bernard gave us a very warm welcome and provided us with a wonderful stay in an oasis of well-being. During our trip, the search for small, authentic and nice accommodation was unfortunately somewhat difficult. The Lion Gate Hotel ultimately met all our expectations and not only did we have a great starting point for our activities around Sigiriya but also a place where we really enjoyed going to simply relax. The rooms are very nice, the facilities are new and modern. The service should be emphasized. Any type of requests were fulfilled immediately. I can highly recommend staying at Lion Gate Hotel.

This homestay features free private parking, a shared kitchen and free WiFi. The homestay has family rooms. This place of Sri and his family is a truly hidden gem. So much love and calm you will find there within a truly authentic local experience. Highly recommend to stay there. We just stayed on night unfortunately but everything was truly amazing. Lovely host, communication, incredible breakfast and the room/house is in such a good calm nature area, still close to the city if you want to experience kandy.
