Very clean, well maintained, big variety of food offered. Airco, hangers, place to put your bag, side bed light. I also got to see some animals just in front of my room. Hosts are very helpful but not intrusive and speak very good English (and some German) and have a great sense of humor. Some power outrages (normal in Sri Lanka) but they have a generator so no problem. The outdoor pool with the jacuzzi is almost ready :)

We saw everything, he is so knowledgeable about everything, he found the best spot for us, including the traditional Sir Lanka lunch with an outstanding view of the lake. They found the best options for our transportation and the room is perfect to relax after an exciting day!

As we really wanted to see wild elephants, we made a stop in Udawalawe, but spotting them wasn't our biggest suprise here. We stayed at the Amba Kola hotel and this was just the most wonderful experience. The kindest owners truely, the nicest room, a brand new and well kept pool, the most delicious food from the entire trip, and playful dogs amongst which the two most adorable puppies  🐶 As mentionned, the food was incredible and we had the chance to take part in the preparation by doing the cooking class with the owner. Something you should really try after a morning safari.  Janik is also so kind, ready to help you with anything, answer any question. He will make everything in his power to make you feel like the most valuable guest on the planet. If you are passing by, really we can't recommend it enough 😍 (we thought the 10 on booking was impossible. Well we thought wrong)

We were able to see many animals, including the amazing leopard and more elephants super close to us! Super recommended!

Boasting garden views, Hasthi Safari Cottage features accommodation with balcony, around 16 km from Udawalawe National Park. This property offers access to a terrace and free private parking. The accommodation offers a sauna, hot tub, family-friendly restaurant and free WiFi. Dasun, the owner, was super nice and organized a safari for us, brought us to the elephant orphanage, and as well to a river, so that we could refresh ourselves on those super hot days. The place is pretty, the room comfortable and the food was really good.

The guest house has a sun terrace and water sports facilities, and guests can enjoy a meal at the restaurant. Free WiFi is available. We had a great stay at Green view safari resort. We were welcomed with a drink and early check in. The bungalow was perfect for our needs and very clean and tidy with good Air- con. The lovely couple who own the place were so welcoming. We had a superb home cooked evening meal with choice of 4 curries. Good mini bar choice also. They arranged a brilliant safari for us which was great value and with a really knowledgeable driver. We highly recommend for a 1 or 2 night stay.

Set in Udawalawe, 14 km from Udawalawe National Park, Max Safari Villa offers air-conditioned accommodation and an outdoor swimming pool. There is a private entrance at the guest house for the convenience of those who stay. There is a restaurant serving Chinese cuisine, and free private parking is available. A friend of ours highly recommended staying at Max Safari. Max was always smiling and so nice and helpful, it’s a relaxing quiet sanctuary, walking distance to the reservoir, temple, restaurants. The common areas were clean and comfortable, the food was very generous amounts and delicious home cooked. Max organized a safari with his jeep that was suitable for our families, we traveled with friends and both have a young boy about 2 years old. Max offered us a shorter safari that was the perfect amount of time for the little ones. We saw a ton of elephants, peacocks a crocodile, monkeys and birds. Thank you Max and family!
