Duroyo hotel has a shared lounge, terrace and ski-to-door access in Gilgit. With a garden, the 3-star hotel has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi, each with a private bathroom. There is free private parking and the property offers paid airport shuttle service. Probably the first time a hotel looked better than in pictures. The exterior is a bright and freshly painted white and red. Interior has a rustic, cottage decor, with traditional wall hangings and rugs. My upgraded room had an accent wall draped entirely with cow (yak?) hide fur. There is a terrace to enjoy the view of the mountains, and I was lucky to enjoy this place in the off season of February, while weather was not bad at all. The ride and walk up to the 7th century Buddha carving in Kargah was very pleasant, and the driver told me lots of things about the area. Overall, very homey and friendly, family-run guesthouse.

The owner Liaqat Bhai and staff were very warm, polite, welcoming and very helpful during our stay there. We’ve had magnificent view from our rooms and dining area once the morning came. Although the weather was very cold during our stay, our hearts were warm by the hospitality and pleasant services we received. Definitely an experience my group of 18 people and I will never forget. The surrounding area was very peaceful. The owners were super helpful and arranged for us to be picked up from the airport and arranged other excursions for us. The food was delicious. Very good experience here!
