Water park was great, lots to do if you want bikes/beach etc. small bakery on site we used a couple of times for breakfast. Really enjoyed our stay and certainly would return. Many other restaurants nearby and in Rovinj. Got water taxi into Rovinj harbour one evening. We’ve visited Istria a few times and this is the first time we’ve stayed on a site like this but it definitely had benefits especially for families. It's located close to the center of Izola - a car is not needed (nor recommended) to visit it. From the back entry, the Dolphin Beach is just a few steps away. It's a rocky shore, but there are several stairs into the water. The inside pool is filled with salty water, which is great. Italy is not far away, you can see Trieste across the sea. It is stunningly beautiful, we visited at the end of September expecting it to be less busy however there were literally thousands of cruise ship passengers doing tours all day. I think if I were to return it would have to be very early in the season or maybe even November!! We ate at a recommended restaurant just outside the Pile Gate called Dubravka, the food & service were very good & the price reasonable & the view was lovely. Split & the whole of Croatia has so much history to explore. I would recommend a walking tour, unfortunately we did not have enough time. The shops are lovely to walk around, blended into Diocletian's palace, beautiful place. Picasso's cafeb/bar beside our accommodation was lovely for breakfast, get there early as it fills up quickly. Durrës is a very diverse city, with both modern buildings and unfinished construction as well as scattered trash. The seafront promenade is long and pleasant, lined with plenty of restaurants and small shops. Public transport is available and inexpensive, with a bus ticket costing 40 lek. Beautiful old town, essential to take a boat trip along the bay to view the majestic mountains. The cable car is also a great activity, not only do you get a view of Kotor Bay but when you get to the top there is a lot to explore. The roads are very busy so it takes a while to get around. Essential to book a taxi before you arrive at the airport as the taxis from there are very expensive. Absolutely amazing scenery.
