Durrës is a very diverse city, with both modern buildings and unfinished construction as well as scattered trash. The seafront promenade is long and pleasant, lined with plenty of restaurants and small shops. Public transport is available and inexpensive, with a bus ticket costing 40 lek. This is perfect for its purpose! A clean, comfy bed to catch some sleep before a flight. We could return our car, walk to Rinas to sleep and walk to the airport in the early morning. Krujë is a lovely spot with both cultural and visual appeal. One day is sufficient to see what there is to experience. I stayed an extra day because I had work to do online. Be warned, this is a mountain down so you will be doing a lot of up and downhill walking. Reconsider if you have mobility issues.Guest review byAnonymous - 4.0

The beaches are awefull around Cape Rodon. Lot's of trash and garbage floating around the beaches and sea. Currently there are 2 newly built resorts (Saint Michelle Residence and Resort Arbeni) being demolished for unknown reasons. Our first booked accomodation let us know that they had to cancel our booking due to Albanian new legislation (Piceri Rodoni). In my opinion it is better to stay at the beaches of Dürres and visit the cape as half a day trip. But if you want to have a non-active holiday, Rodoni resort is the best place you could imagine to stay.Guest review byRoBelgium - 10.0

I find that the banking situation is an obscene scam.
I find that the banking situation is an obscene scam. All of my credit card purchases serviced by Raiffheisen Bank were declined at grocery stores for some reason. Several ATMS did not provide me with cash. I had to take cash out of an ATM that charged me $50 US Dollars to take cash out, because the card servicer wasn't approving the card transactions at the grocery store. I have not had this serious of a problem in any other country. I didn't really explore a lot. I wish there was a store that carried camping/hiking equipment. I think the coastline is nice. Lovely and clean place.
Lovely and clean place. Though quite small, there's plenty to explore - picturesque Bazaar under the castle with loads of lovely souvenirs where everyone is sure to find something to their taste and budget. Pretty restaurants and places of accommodation. Small shops but well stocked with things you might need. Shop owners and people working in restaurants speak decent English and the menus are available in both Albanian and English. The grounds of Krujë Castle don't seem to be large but there's a lot to explore and admire. You can walk among the romantic ruins, relax and enjoy the vista. If you venture out in the countryside, you can walk in olive groves among grazing sheep, goats and cows and if you are lucky, you can meet a local riding a donkey. If you love hiking, there's Krujë mountain.
