It was right on the main promenade of the city where there is vibrant community life right below with restaurants, bars and cafes. We walked everywhere and the hotel was super accessible. We had an amazing view from our Bergeron where we saw the old town houses on the mountain and all the mountains around. We basically had a 180 degree view. The breakfast every morning was amazing. The town had so much to see and was absolutely beautiful.
The town had so much to see and was absolutely beautiful. The Ottoman era area was preserved amazingly well, as were the other parts of the old city. There were nice stores. The old city juxtaposed well with the modern era shopping and walking street that ran along the canal and a park where the town residents were out gathering in the evening. Berat is a must see.
Berat is a must see. The people are super friendly and helpful. If you take the bus, find the bus stop to take it to the city centre. I walked 45 minutes from the bus station to the city centre. I wish someone told me I could take a bus ahead of time. When you leave, take the bus from the city centre. The castle is large and interesting and no charge . Parking under ground in the town was 100 Lek/ Euro per hour and keeps the car cool . The friendly house restaurant has great views and good food . Two historic areas to wander through - very enjoyable.Guest review byDeniseAustralia
