Exceptional accommodation in the heart of El Calafate. The staff went above and beyond to ensure myself and my wife were happy and comfortable. The accommodation was at a very high standard and we will definitely stay in Mabra suites on our return to El Calafate. WiFi was strong. A special mention to the two ladies who served the breakfast. Estancia Santa Thelma is a beautiful and quaint ranch placed along the Route 40 highway. The property is expansive and has lots of interesting relics inside and out. The owner, Marc-Antoine, has incredible stories from his 30 years of adventuring through Patagonia and was an amazing host. The food was fresh and cooked like home, and it was really nice to have meals with other guests and meet new people. You can also go on a horseback ride through the mountains where you will see many horses, sheep, and other animals. I look forward to staying again soon. Thank you!

I did 2 glacier tours, and one day took the bus to el chalten. The town itself is very charming, and one early morning when I was looking for a pharmacy, I had an escort of 4-8 local stray (and very friendly) dogs.

Nice town. Good food options. I think my only critique is there was no good tee shirts and sweatshirts for area people could by as souvenirs. Yes, there were a few...but you could sale a butch if the design and comfort of the gear was good. Shirt's fit were off and really no sweatshirts. Americans eat that stuff up.

Yo can stay there 3 or 4 days, not more. Is a beautiful place but not to stay more tan 4 days. People is very kind. You can find things to buy that you can't find even in bigger citties. Food is excelent.

Now that I have had a chance to experience Patagonia, let me...

Now that I have had a chance to experience Patagonia, let me offer the following: you will not find a more comprehensive place for nature than right here! As an example, with Darwin Expedition today, I saw the following (and I mean up close and personal): Magellan penguins, rockhopper penguins, elephant seals, sea lions (we needed to keep a respectful distance but we were still reasonably close). Plus we saw Commerson AND austral dolphins. This is an animal/nature lover's dream. Other cities are fine and I will not denigrate them; rather, what I'm saying is this is THE best place to see it all, and I mainly came to see the rockhoppers. Yes, it's a bit off the beaten path but well worth it.

We stayed two nights in El Calafate, visited Mereno Glacier national park for a day, another day, relaxed in the city. we really enjoyed walking along the Argentina river walkway, also visited nature conservancy, there are so many waterfowls in the lake (river), first time saw black neck swan, I wished I brought binocular with me to enjoy the bird watching. It supposes to have Grebe's and Flamingos, dozens of species. the first week of April, all the tall trees leave in the city are changing to golden yellow Fall color, with Spanish style houses, it is really a pretty and warm town. with delicious food and drinks. Really enjoyed

We stayed in El Chalten for four nights.

We stayed in El Chalten for four nights. We will stay longer next time. The Laguna De los Tres hike was marvelous and strenuous . We needed a day to rest. I'd stay two more nights to allow for rests between hikes. (we are 57 and active but back to back nine hour hikes was hard)

Loved the All glaciers boat trip - well organized with plenty of time to enjoy the ride and the views. We went with SoloPatagonia and found it perfect for us. It takes all day, but we had time to drive to Perito Moreno Glacier and enjoy a shot visit before the closed. We found El Calafate has great restaurant options, ice cream shops and shopping. Another day, we drove to Chalten and completed one of the hikes looking at Fitz Roy mountain... loved the town of Chalten, the vibe, restaurants and nature. We would like to come back and stay there at least one night to complete more hikes.

The great part is that you can walk out of the town and you...

The great part is that you can walk out of the town and you are on a trail. The scenery is stunning! The fees for the Park, as they are right now are very pricey. Restaurants, supermarkets and any kind of services are way high, for what they offer!
