Great little village with no cars, only small electric vehicles. Great food, good shopping and stunning views of then Matterhorn. Nice to walk the streets with no worry of traffic. There was a small group of older local musicians dressed in traditional clothing who played at a location and then moved on to another location to play. Lake Bled was wonderful, incredibly beautiful. We swam in the lake, paddle boarded on the lake, and caught the boat out to the island. The city is incredibly charming, with a vibe that feels much more Austrian than Italian. It’s also surrounded by plenty of beautiful hikes (which I wish I’d had time to do!). I only stayed for two days, and while one day is enough to see the city itself, the real highlight is exploring the trails and nature nearby. Grindelwald is like a Swiss Fairytale.
Grindelwald is like a Swiss Fairytale. All the wonderful Swiss Chalets, the incomparable alps, the charming Swiss people. Grindelwald is definitely a tourist town with shops selling all the Swiss trinkets, but that's part of the charm.
