- From $135.49 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.1Very Good - What previous guests thought, 981 reviewsThe rooms are nice and cozy, with that old charm. Everything was clean, comfortable, and had a homey feel that made it even more relaxing. There are no toilets/showers in the rooms, but the shared facilities are close, warm, and private when you are in them. There's no risk of someone walking in while you shower for example. Food was also excellent, I would even advise that the portions are very generous! The salad was amazing, and over delivered on quantity and taste. Really was the icing on the cake so to say.Guest review byBrianCzech Republic
- From $318.45 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 574 reviewsThis is the most gorgeous setting of all the hotels during my month long Europe vacation! The hotel is decorated perfectly for the beautiful mountain setting. The dinners and breakfasts were amazing, so glad we included them in our stay. It was nice after a day of hiking to know we didn't have to look for a place for dinner - our hotel had probably the best option around for miles! The staff was extremely helpful for hiking and adventure suggestions also.Guest review byJenniferUnited States
- From $446.06 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Excellent - What previous guests thought, 108 reviewsOur daughter has celiac disease and we chose this hotel because of all the gluten-free options for food. The view from our room balcony was amazing, all of the staff were amazing and the location was the best. We stayed here with our 10 year old daughter and there were some families with younger children, but the crowd was mostly older couples. We found that a plus because everyone was very respectful and it was a peaceful, quiet stay.Guest review byKrisUnited States

Only a 3 day visit, on way back to Bavaria from Italy & Switzerland. Nice beautiful town and very historic. Excellent hiking and numerous castle attractions to see. Very friendly atmosphere by all the locals in shops, pubs, restaurants, etc.Guest review byParkerUnited States - 10.0

The town is lovely for a walk and for viewing the painted buildings. You can also get some good beer. Prices are higher due to the proximity of the castle. The town is an ideal place to stay for visiting the castle or for hiking. The roads are well maintained, as are the cycling and hiking trails. Our visit was at the end of September, with slightly worse weather, so we did not experience any crowds.Guest review byTanja ŠtokarSlovenia - 10.0

Magical place to stay for winter holidays, surrounded with lots of ski and tobogganing tracks, great communication with another villages. Food scene quite limited , same as night entertainment, I would rather to have a bit more of this to spend betters nights.Guest review byvitelio enrique - 10.0
I did not enter any of the castles or museums.
I did not enter any of the castles or museums. I had done that 50 years ago, as a student in Munich. I liked just walking around, soaking up the tourist vibe, predominantly Chinese. I even liked the rainy-sunny mix of weather, so characteristic of the Allgaue region.Guest review byDavidUnited States - 10.0
We loved the tiny town with everything so close by.
We loved the tiny town with everything so close by. It was so clean and the people really lovely. It was fantastic catching up with family after 28 years!! We had the best breakfast at Hotel Lowen and a really great pizza and pasta night at I’ll Castro . Very good value and excellent traditional food. We used Nesselwang as a base and daily went on trips. We visited Salzburg, Innsbruck , Lake Konigsee, Lake Konstanz, Heididorf in Switzerland and so much more.Guest review byTessa Van vulpenAustralia - 10.0

This is a great area if you like a quiet village, nature, walking, hiking, biking, swimming in nearby lakes. My hotel, Alpenblick, was a perfect location for all of this. Having a car helps, but there are buses to most places in the area and train connections from nearby towns. One big hub is Steingaden from where you can get to most places. This area is a good place to slow down, relax, recuperate if you are living in a fast paced city and all that it entails. People are friendly and helpful if the hotel staff are anything to go by.Guest review bySpJGermany - 8.0
A small, quiet town (or big village!)
A small, quiet town (or big village!) but excellently located for many kms of walking and cycling routes (and cross-country skiing in Winter - I was there in late May, but would like to return in winter), covering easy to hard options; Also close to two lovely lakes (the Vilsalpsee and the Haldensee)Guest review byFerryenoUnited Kingdom - 10.0

The beautiful hotel Schwarzenbach is highly recommended, we will come back soon! Very friendly staff/service, clean, lovely breakfast, very good cook, beautiful view to the lake and the rolling hills...... We had a tour inside the Castle of Neuschwanstein, went to Reutte/Austria and to Oberammergau near Zugspitze. The dark beer King Ludwig is my favorite!Guest review byChristianeGermany - 10.0
We LOVED Fűssen!
We LOVED Fűssen! The old charm feel, the energetic cafe night time vibe, the many walking/biking paths to explore the area and the quaint neighborhood charm made it a wonderful destination. I wish we stayed longer. We ate at Ludwig’s and sat in the Swan seats. The food was delicious and the inside decor was charming. We also rode our bikes to Neuschwanstein Castle which was 15-20 minutes away. There were so many bike paths throughout the area that we were able to visit many places on bikes.Guest review byAnonymous
