This hotel is amazing! Perfection in every detail! Everything from the design and furniture to the bed linen, the softest pillows and the spa-shower in the room exceeds expectations! Breakfast was great! The hotel restaurant is Michelin rated and there is also a very nice bar. The hotel staff are very friendly and courteous.     The spa resort is very well maintained and very clean. The sauna world is an amazing place, and the classes are a great experience. The staff are friendly and speak many languages, including English. If the staff did not speak English, they kindly asked people around to help translate. We learnt a little of the German language, and they did not judge us for trying. I'd advise learning the German language before travelling it helps. The beds were comfortable. The rooms were modern.

    Wonderful place. Nice and friendly staff. The location and the restaurant itself deserve special attention, the food is very tasty, the views are beautiful. They not only charge money for staying with dogs, but also provide a special kit for dogs. The bathroom has fragrant bath amenities.     Fantastic hotel, loved our stay at Vitalhotel Gosau. Comfy beds, spacious room with balcony and lovely towels and bath robes. They offer a summer card which entitles for a lot of reduced fare activities. The staff were extremely nice and willing to help. The room was tidied up every day. I strongly recommend Vitalhotel to anyone who's searching for quality time and peace of mind.

    This hotel is like a dream. Room was beautiful with stunning views. Breakfast will never be topped in my LIFE. Lovely pool, outdoor lake and jacuzzi were great fun. Amazing 4 course supper. Very lovely staff, plenty of towels. So close to the Christmas Market, and you can hear the church clock chiming.

    Linz is an industrial and admin centre on the (definitely...

    Linz is an industrial and admin centre on the (definitely not blue) Danube river . Small airport with (as at July 2025) 2 flights a week from London STN. Pedestrianised town centre with a mix of old and new architecture gives no clue that the pleasant clean town has an active steel works. No special tourist draw but a reasonable base for touring and onward travel, Large Danube cruise ships stop at Linz but most passengers are sent to Salzburg by coach and make minimal contribution to the Linz economy.

    We stayed a bit less than 24 hours, may have liked a few more hours, but not a lot more. It was a wonderful intermediary between Vienna and Salzburg. It was nice to be there around the times that the buses weren’t. We rode in on the train, ferry to the town and ferry back to the train.

    A more beautiful peaceful vacation could not be imagined. The mountains are breathtaking. The quietness speaks to you, and I left feeling more peaceful than I have in years. We were there in May, and I understand the tourist scene in June and July is a bit busier. There is a lot to do in the village besides gazing at the scenery. Delicious eats, friendly hosts, charming souvenir shops and the ferry that goes up and down the St Wolfgangsee are some of the delights.

    We travelled with 3 different trains from Vienna to...

    We travelled with 3 different trains from Vienna to Obertraun in order to visit Hallstat. Unfortunately, the transportation wasn't very convenient for us. One of the trains that we had arranged was late and we had to wait two more hours in order to get the last train to Obertraun. We departed from Vienna at 8:00 and we arrived to Obertraun at 15:30! Obertraun was very close to Hallstat. Hallstat is a magical place but next time I would prefer to visit it by car.

    This is merely a city for business trips or when you want to visit special events. The city and shopping opportunities are rather limited. We spent a few hours here, travelling through, but we didn't feel that we missed anything when quickly checking out the city.

    Nice old town that has nice stores and good restaurants to go. I liked the Christmas decoration in the town center. Bad Ischl is a good place to stay and drive around to some other towns like Bad Ischl, St. Wolfgang, St. Gilgen, Dachstein and Badausee

    Mondsee is a very pleasant area - very pleasant lakeside gardens and facilities. We were particularly impressed by the Post Shuttle Bus facility which was great for visitors without their own car facilities. The service provided by the Tourist Information Office was also first class.
