We would like to thanks all the staff from MalisGartern for their professional approach, especially the Calvin who was very helpful, kind and always ready to assist. Also big thanks to Anton, and also Judy our guide for hiking. She is very big professional and kind person. We spent a very nice day hiking in Tirol Alps. Also big thanks to Simone from the bar, she is big professional bartender and always prepare tasty drinks for us. The environment of the hotel is very quiet, which suits for us very well as we were looking for relax. The pool, Spa and garden were amazing and our jacuzzi on the balcony was the cherry on the top :) We would like to fully recommend this hotel and definitely will come back!

I have just spent a week at Englhof Hotel, and have to admit that it exceeded all my expectations. Every member of the staff was friendly, welcoming and comitted to provide an exceptional service. The room was spotless, spacious, and thoughtfully designed, ensuring a very comfortable stay. The view from the balcony was special, having the Ziller river in front of us, and the Alps in sight. The food was absolutely delicious - every meal felt like a gourmet experience. And to top it all off, the cocktail bar was a real highlight. With expertly crafted drinks (lots of awards received 🏆) and a cozy lounge area, it was the perfect spot to unwind after a day of skiing/snowboarding. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a blend of luxury and comfort! We’ll definitely be back 🥂

This place is an incredible maze with comfort and wellness hidden in almost every corner. The heated pools, the lounging areas, the adult only areas… It truly was an amazing, neat experience. And the transfers from the village to the ski pistes is a very big plus! They made luxury and relaxation available and accessible for a solo skier. And the ski cellar; amazing!

Picture-perfect Zillertal

Nestled between the snow-capped Zillertal Alps and the grassy peaks of the Kitzbühel Alps is the picture-perfect Zillertal region. Stretching from the villages of Strass to Mayrhofen then dividing into four smaller valleys.

Zillertal Arena is the perfect facility for the lovers of snowboarding, skiing, hiking, and mountain biking. It is the largest ski area in the region ranging over 163 km and features 50 lifts which have the capacity to transport up to 76,000 people per hour.

The charming and traditional Austrian town of Mayrhofen is only a 1-hour drive from Tyrol. It is a popular spot for trail-walking and hiking, with hundreds of marked trails available for all kinds of walkers. Enjoy a taste of the local gastronomy in the restaurants and old-style coffee houses scattered around the town. Mayrhofen is also famous for hosting the Snowbombing Music Festival, usually held in April each year.

Adjacent to Mayrhofen is the prehistoric and quaint parish of Tux, one of the most popular skiing destinations in Austria during the summer. You even catch a glimpse of the local theatre which is held in the centre of Tux. Visitors can immerse themselves in the stunning scenery of The Zillertal from the carriages of a traditional steam train departing from the Zillertalbahn (Zillertal Railway Station).

Booking.com offers a variety of accommodation options in Mayrhofen and Tux, from traditional chalet-style hotels, to luxurious 4-star Spa hotels in the Ziller Valley.

The perfect Zillertal base — charming, active, and full of alpine character. Mayrhofen is a gem in the heart of the Zillertal Alps — both lively and surrounded by breathtaking scenery. My favorite spot in town was the central square with the iconic ibex statue and the beautiful alpine church, perfect for soaking in the mountain vibe. I enjoyed traditional Tyrolean meals at local guesthouses, and the hut-style restaurants in the surrounding mountains are worth the hike. Breakfast at my hotel was exceptional, and the Zillertal beer is a must-try after a long day outdoors. Getting around is easy — everything in town is walkable, and the Zillertalbahn train makes exploring the valley simple. For solo travelers like me, Mayrhofen is ideal: scenic hiking trails start right from town, there’s an excellent pool & spa complex (Erlebnisbad), and plenty of cafés and beer gardens to meet people or just relax. Whether you’re here for a few days or as a base for adventures like the Berliner Höhenweg, Mayrhofen delivers both comfort and authentic alpine atmosphere.

Fugen is a great base for the Zillertal Valley.

Fugen is a great base for the Zillertal Valley. There are good restaurants and bars and it is less noisy than some places. Easy road and rail access to the other resorts. We have stayed in this village several times. We really like not having to queue at bust times to get up the valley. We always leave early to get on the lifts and the roads are quiet then. Highly recommended.

Gerlos, in the heart of Tirol, is a true piece of paradise. Surrounded by majestic mountains and endless alpine trails, it offers breathtaking views in every direction. The fresh mountain air, crystal-clear streams, and the peaceful charm of the village create the perfect escape from the everyday rush. I love it, it's my favorite!

Ski runs in Tux a bit short, but in general area is big and beautiful, also there are massive Zillertal Arena and Hintertux Glacier ski areas near by. We were traveling by car (there are also ski busses), so visited all nearby skiing locations (you may buy one skipass which will cover all of them). Also I'd recommend great Spa/pool facilities - Erlebnistherme Zillertal

This skiing area is large enough for a week, except when you are a experienced skier, then it might be too small. It was 14-17 °C all week (march '25 !!!) and there was still enough snow on the slopes, just not in the valley below. Good slopes, not too many for real beginners though. Several kid's fun slopes, and several action parks, slaloms with movie recordings and speed checks. Nice to download the movies afterwards!

I've been to Mayrhofen many times over the years. On top of the magnificent views and mountains, I always recommend it particularly on the size of the town. There are plenty of shops, restaurants and hotels in the centre, which give plenty of options if you ever should get a bad weather day. If you are there for a few days, the Active Card is well worth getting. It includes all lifts, train and buses in the valley, so you can get about easily, trying other towns in the valley, without thinking of additional cost.
