My 9yo son and I thoroughly enjoyed Dubbo zoo, it was a fantastic couple of days. We dined one night at the Shire Bar and grill, which had a great atmosphere, good food and good service. Pizza Cravings on another night was also good. Our accomodation at Budget Stay was an excellent location to drive to the zoo and walk into town. A wonderful short holiday for father and son :)

Lovely town with plenty to look at.

Lovely town with plenty to look at. Really enjoyed driving around the famous Mount Panorama Race Track and found it exhilarating even travelling at a speed limit of 60 km/h. The whole track is fantastic and the mountain sections going up and down get you at another level. In awe of the professional drivers who drive at race speeds around the track. Couple of spots at top of mountain are available to stop and enjoy the view and also realise the height difference from the bottom of the track to the top. My dad was a car salesman and we looked forward to watching the race every year on TV. Would have loved travelling around the track with Dad but that is no longer possible. Lovely drive out to Oberon which is about 45 kms from Bathurst - beautiful country and even stopped at Fish River for a swim on the way back to Bathurst

Gulgong is unique, many buildings are original .

Gulgong is unique, many buildings are original . The Mayne street is still narrow as in the Cobb and Co days. The people are friendly and the museums are incredible. A shame it is still not on the back of the ten dollar not. If you are visiting Mudgee wineries . Gulgong is a must for a visit. The pubs are great and The Silver Fox Café was great for coffee and lunch. Enjoy your visit.
