- From $154.66 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 130 reviewsI had the most delightful stay at the Hotel De Maretak. It has only a few rooms, which gives it the charm of a bed and breakfast. The building's architecture and the attention to detail in the decor both outside and inside continually captured my attention. The dining room is especially gorgeous. My room was average in size but comfortable and quiet. Most impressive was the evening dinner, which was worthy of a multiple-star restaurant. The owners could not do enough for me. They are amazing. I recommend this hotel very highly. If you have the chance to stay here, you should DEFINITELY take it.Guest review byGeorgeUnited States

The hotel is immaculate and beautiful, the spa is pristine and relaxing, and the staff are extremely courteous and attentive. The perfect hotel.Guest review byDaveNetherlands

The location was peaceful and the accommodation very comfortable. We enjoyed walking through the woods in the evening to a lovely restaurant overlooking the lake. It was an easy drive into Maastrict and also the pretty village of Oud Rekem - both worth a visit. We did not go into Lanaken itself as our time there was too short.Guest review byAnonymous - 4.0
We have stayed before and it was good.
We have stayed before and it was good. This time, however, we were not informed that the restaurant was closed. It's in a remote place so having to get back in the car after a long journey didn't suit us. The windmill was covered with scaffolding - again, not informed that workmen were around. Only one other guest, and hosts were not present until we waited 20/30 minutes for them to come to let us in, and the woman came back for breakfast (which had to be chosen on arrival by way of a tick-sheet). As I said, it's in a remote place so nowhere to walk to; around 20 mins drive to town or shopping outlet. Sadly, the changes have turned it into a place we won't be visiting again.Guest review bySueUnited Kingdom - 8.0
It was a very nice stay.
It was a very nice stay. The appartment was comfortable and we enjoyed going for long walks in the neighbourhood. There are more than enough places around to go out for dinner if you would like to do that.Guest review bylilacnoraBelgium - 10.0

The place was very cozy and clean, the location of this house was very beautiful, situated next to the Vijverzicht lake. The house contained all of the necessary things needed for a stay. Perfect location to travel around the Limburg area, with very good access to grocery shoppings and restaurants in the vicinity. Close to Maastricht as well. Very good value for money.Guest review byJánSlovakia - 8.0

Maasmechelen is an excellent place to stay to visit the area where Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany meet. Recommend traveling by car. Maasmechelen is close to roads going to Maastricht, Aachen and Antwerp. Restaurants, supermarkets and the Maasmechelen Village Mall are nearby. Maasmechelen is also next to the Hoge Kempen National Park.Guest review byPatrickUnited States - 8.0

They charge for a pet 25 Euros which is as per my opinion quite a high price. We were staying at the receptionist for a while. We rang the bell, but nobody attended us. There was a notice on the table though informing us to go to the lounge area and get someone's attention. I approached a waitress. She left at once what she was doing and went with me to check us in. She had a quite stern facial expression without any welcoming manners. I do not blame her. If I do work as a waiter and as a receptionist at the same time I would be under the pressure as well.Guest review byigorUnited Kingdom
