You don't even have this much color, light and Christmas at home. You can only feel very comfortable. very rich breakfast. The tastiest tapioca I've eaten. Staff absolutely friendly. we had a great stay here before and after our trek into the Amazon. the staff were lovely, did a great breakfast and the rooms very spacious, modern and clean. only downside was the wifi sometimes wasn’t great, but apart from that it was amazing.

    Manaus is an important starting point near the Amazon Rainforest, there is an incredible visual phenomenon called "encontro das aguas", indigenous tribes, Teatro Amazonas, waterfalls and cave in Presidente Figueiredo. Also you have to try the different types of fish typical of the region.

    For me it was the perfect combination of nature and safety.

    For me it was the perfect combination of nature and safety. It is not the right place for someone looking for a deep jungle adventure. The hotel offered controlled conditions at all times which was perfect for me. Beautiful flooded forests, lakes, river. I saw monkeys, sloths, alligators, iguanas, red squirrels and lots of beautiful birds. The local community are traditional river people.

    Manaus is ugly and charmless.

    Manaus is ugly and charmless. The real attraction of Amazonas state is the Amazon Rain Forest itself, so either skip Manaus altogether or 3 days is plenty of time to get the feel of the place. Even the food culture is relatively bland and unexceptional. If you do decide to stay in the city, go to Presidente Figuereido to see the waterfalls. But most people will be using Manaus as a launching pad for exploring the Amazon.
