Unsure why this is a 2 ⭐️ property, as to me it’s way better than that. The rooms are modern with everything required for a comfortable stay. The coffee and breakfast items available were a very welcome addition to my stay and as I was only passing through on a cycling trip, I wish I could have stayed longer. There are also plenty of restaurants nearby and being minutes from the lake, means I’d recommend booking this for a stay, long or short.

The location was perfect for the places we visited such as Alexandria Bay and Clayton. The cabin was very clean and well-stocked. The bed was quite comfortable and the paneling was beautiful to look at. There is a series of steps down to the dock where we sat and enjoyed the peacefulness of the river. It was very relaxing but also good exercise on the steps. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Great spot to enjoy some off-season sunshine along the St Lawrence. Kimberley the manager was very helpful, lent us her prized corkscrew and even bought us a beer when we bumped into her at a bar in town later in the evening. Lovely little town, although I can imagine it gets a lot busier and more expensive in the summer. Definitely great for a peaceful sunny Autumn weekend.

A must visit the Kingston Penn and Musem . Visit the Musem first then go on the tour of the Penn. Cruise of the island was alright . We went on the three hour tour. The entertainment on this cruise was enjoyable. Thank you. Where to eat top rated Manadrian Buffet excellent. Dennys on Bension poor service they ran out of food, salad and soup , this was at 730 pm. Go to one eye jacks excellent food and service. From our location Comfort Inns on Bension was easy to get around.

Gananoque is a great location to visit all of the 1000 islands on the Canadian side. The town had some nice restaurants. The Old English Pub, Purple House and Grayson's at Wood View Inn. took a 5 Hour tour with City Cruises of the 100 Island with a stop at Boldens castle from the docks in town. It was fantastic. The vibe in town is very much geared to tourism. When i planned this trip I knew nothing about Gananoque, but I hit a home run.

Reeked of diesel fuel on Rockport Cruises unfortunately.

Reeked of diesel fuel on Rockport Cruises unfortunately. Otherwise it was a great cruise! Aquatarium was a little bit of a disappointment. There was plenty of room in the reptile area, but they were housed in cages that I felt were far too small for their needs with lots of space in between. 2 cages were empty and had no labels as if the reptiles had died. I really liked the part where kids could touch the creatures of the sea bottom, and I will suggest that to Science North in Sudbury, it is an excellent display. . But there were a few displays that were empty, the place kind of looked like they were in the midst of renos. Also, it was really far from parking and since I used a cane I felt it overly difficult. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I did find a plush beaver for a very reasonable price in the gift shop.

This was our first trip to the 1,000 Islands. There is no comparison between Alexandria Bay and Clayton. After the disastrous start, refusing to stay in our Alexandria Bay hotel, we stayed in Clayton. That is a beautiful town and we enjoyed our stay there.

    Clayton is amazing!

Clayton is amazing! We only wished that more of the restaurants and coffee shops would’ve been open during the morning hours. Many of them did not open until 4 PM. It did not give us many options for lunch. I was really sad to see that the Christmas store closed! :-(. I will be back to Clayton next year, though! Having dinner at Diprizios’s was the highlight of our eating out! Delicious!

Ogdensburg is the home of the Fredrick Remington Museum , which is well worth visiting if you like painting and sculpture. The town is located on the south shore of the St Lawrence seaway, which is very scenic and near a bridge to Canada. It was hot, and Kingston was not planned as a primary stop. We would have liked to go to the waterfront, as we have done before, and take a boat cruise, followed by dinner. The problem is that it is so busy now and finding a parking space is problematic.
