Highly recommended to those looking to get away from the crowds! Beautiful location high above the valley, yet easy to get to via an aerial tram that departs from the Niederrickenbach train station, a short hop from Lucerne. The rooms were comfortable and spotless, the staff friendly and helpful, and the food was excellent and vegetarian friendly. This is a great starting point for hikes in a gorgeous part of Switzerland - near the hotel, there's a 4 person tram to the Musenalp on the mountain above (https://www.musenalp-nw.ch/bahn/) and it's a 20-30 minute walk to the most unique chairlift I've even encountered (https://haldigrat.ch/). We only stayed two nights - next time we're planning on a longer stay!

    What a hidden gem of a place just outside of Luzern. I wanted a place outside of the hustle and bustle of the city--we couldn't have chosen a better spot. My friends and I had six rooms, each with a unique and delightful decor. The beds were very comfortable; the bathrooms large and well appointed with toiletries, nice towels and even a washcloth. The location was just a five minute walk from the Stansstad train station which is an easy, scenic 19 minute train ride from the Luzern Bahnhof. Each room had complimentary bottled mineral water and two confections from the wonderful bakery downstairs. Yes. You read that right--the bakery downstairs! Perfect for grabbing a picnic lunch for a beautiful hike or boat ride in the area (I had a wonderful cheese and vegetable sandwich). Breakfast was a delicious ample spread (my friends raved about the coffee, for me it was the hot chocolate!) and the staff was so friendly and inviting from the start to the end of our two day stay. The town, situated on the lakeside, is nice and quiet but there's SO much to do in this area from visiting Luzern and all it has to offer, going up multiple mountains (I recommend the less touristy Stanserhorn in the nearby town of Stans--currently free with your Swiss Travel Pass), boat rides, and taking leisurely hikes through the countryside. There's also a small Volg market across the street. The property's pictures are very accurate. I like to visit the Luzern area in my trips to Switzerland. I have definitely found my new go to place to stay. The Hotel zum Beck has it all for quiet charm, location, and welcoming staff.

    This hotel was beyond expectations. The owner has done well to deliver a fantastic experience. We were greeted by very energetic and friendly reception staff who made us feel like friends immediately. The road to get to the hotel was very challenging, but the reception made us feel at ease by sharing that it is part of the "charm" of the area, and that the locals would be friendly drivers. They have easy access to the lake, with a private beach, an outdoor sauna and a "self service" bar/icecream stand. The view was STUNNING and the whole staff only added to the entire experience. My whole family came away with positive opinions and experiences.

    This city is a short distance from Lucerne.

    This city is a short distance from Lucerne. There are frequent trains that go to Lucerne and further into Unterwalden. The main attraction in Hergiswill is the glass works and its museum and restaurant. There is a boat that stops there. One of its benefits is hotels that cost less than Lucerne Hotels and offer great views of the Lake. Consider it a suburb of Lucerne.

    It's a nice village close to Luzern and Stans. You can easily get the train to Luzern or Engelberg and visit the Stanserhorn bahn or the Titlis bahn. Where you can ski, take in the beautiful views or do some walking. It is by the lake and there are some good restaurants close by and also by the lake with lovely views and good pizza! you can also take a nice walk around the lake too.

    The closest one where I stayed for work is the Culinarium...

    The closest one where I stayed for work is the Culinarium Alpinum where I require to walk to the office. Also, there is no uber or any local app for cab to be there within the city ride. However, the buses and trains are well connected as the timings alone required to be known well in advance before you travel for the day as the nearest hill for food is Sarnen and nearest station is Stans and from there, you could travel to Lucern or stop trains through hops for Zurich.

    there was a mountain top with gondola ride to get to top, but it was closed from march'25 to may'25 (I think due to refurbishment - all notices were in german). there is a nice grocery shop only a few mins walk away - with pretty generous timings

Nice to see old swiss building and customs Public transport good with bus to Stans and from there train to Lucern and Ettenbergen mountain area. Also nice cafes at nearby Beckenreid on lake . Close to tracks for mountain walking .

    There are so many places we like: 1. Breakfast at Spices Kitchen & Terrace - breathtaking view of Lake Lucerne for breakfast. Go early to get a table near the window. 2. Restaurant Taverne - its rosti is the best I have eaten in Switzerland. Must try! 3. For tennis players, must visit Diamond Domes to play tennis. For golfers, must try the 9 hole golf course with stunning scenery. 4. Experience the Hammetschwand Lift and the Suspension Stairs. 5. Enjoy the funicular railway and catamaran to Lucerne and return. All complimentary for hotel guests. 6. Download the Burgenstock App and check out the daily activities. There are Core & Stretch, Aqua Fitness, History Tour and Burgenstock Resort Movie. 7. Must visit the Spa to enjoy the indoor and outdoor pool, infinity pool, steam room, sauna room, floating pool, foot spa and the relaxation area.

    This small and tranquil village at the lake is an ideal stop when travelling by car. It offers wondeful views of the lake and the mountains and some really nice hotels and restaurants that exceeded our expectations. Lots of sights and possible activities within a 30 minute drive from here.

    Kehrsiten is a very small village.

    Kehrsiten is a very small village. Seebaumen Hotel is located at the end of a 3km very narrow road, which leads to private houses. This is not a route you do easily everyday, especially if you have big car. You have very few alternatives except hiking and exploring the nature around the hotel. It is a perfect place to relax and enjoy nature.

    The location of Stans is perfect, being away from the crowds...

    The location of Stans is perfect, being away from the crowds of Lucerne yet 15 minutes by rail. The station is the main stop for all trains on the line between Lucerne and Engelburgh. The Tell Pass is the most convenient way to travel all around the area.
