- Scored out of 10, guest rating 7.5Good - What previous guests thought, 310 reviewsActually not much. Definitely did not enjoy the statements about silence at 2200 ignored by all with loudness until 0100. And the fact that the walls are so thin that the man snoring all night kept me from sleeping.Guest review byRussellUnited States

Castro is a basic Chilloe town.
Castro is a basic Chilloe town. There is walking around the estuary and a beach on the opposite side. The national park with a board walk walk is 30 minutes drive. There are a couple of good restaurants. Two days was plenty of timeGuest review bylouiseUnited Kingdom - 4.0
It really small and there is no tourisme agencies.
It really small and there is no tourisme agencies. It’s better to stay in Castro and take a bus if you want to visit the National park (it’s the only touristic thing you can do), ther is buses every hours normally.Guest review byAnne SophieBelgium - 10.0

Castro, the main city on the enchanting Chiloé Island, boasts a picturesque bay area lined with iconic 'palafitos' – stilt houses. This unique setting offers a truly magical glimpse into the island's rich cultural heritage.Guest review byJP GarnicaChile - 6.0

I'd been to Castro several times, but this was my first during high season, and I'd advise travelers that unless you like sitting in backed-up traffic ('taco') for long stretches, just avoid Castro from mid-January to late February, when trying to drive from anywhere north of Castro to anywhere south of Castro can take hours. November-December are great, however, and I'm told March is the best month of all. By and large, Chiloé's charms are not to be found in the cities.Guest review byDan
