This place is made by its people. The manager Leonardo is the soul of this small hotel. Maybe it’s not much fancy and chic but it’s really nice and clear. You have breakfast at the terrace together with colourful birds and squirrels who are having their breakfast. There’s a small but well cared pool. And don’t forget about frog tour with Leonardo.

This place was absolutely fabulous. It's a very big enclosed ground with lots of trees and plants. Every house - with its spacious rooms and bathrooms - has its own parking spot and its own terrace with stunning view on the volcano. After our hikes we were able to rest at our terrace and be surrounded with lots of birds - especially hummingbirds! The location of the hotel is also great - you can easily get to a lot of restaurants by foot, La Fortuna is a 5 min drive and Arenal National Park is a 20 minute drive. The staff is also extremely friendly, the breakfast was delicious and we really liked the swimming pool as well!

Got the thermal suite at a super good deal on Booking.com and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The private thermal pool was just amazing - soothes our tired legs after all the hiking. But even if you don't get the suite, you can still enjoy the public thermal pools which looks great too. Bed was ok, wifi was strong enough to stream videos. Their restaurant serves yummy food - the shrimp risotto is to die for!

It was by far the best hotel we stayed at in Costa Rica. This brand-new place is incredibly cool and stylish. The decor was stunning, and everything was spotless. Having a kitchen in the room made us really happy, and having a private jacuzzi in the garden was amazing. The hotel staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. In this small family operation, Jose’s service was impeccable. He reached out in advance and removed down/feather pillows as I’m allergic. Six stars, Jose, for preheating the outdoor jacuzzi in advance of our arrival. Bungalow is the right word: small, adequate, hybrid indoor and outdoor. Jacuzzi on the side; rainforest in the back. Breakfast was more than adequate, and we enjoyed a tasty dinner at the Ross restaurant in nearby Chachagua. Sadly, we missed an early morning sighting of the area sloth crawling across the power line above. That’s for next time.

What makes this hotel so special is the service and surroundings - amazing thermal pool area surrounded by exotic tropical gardens. Nothing is better after a day's hiking, than returning to the hotel in the afternoon and soaking in one or more of the heated jacuzzis or having a drink at the heated main pool bar. The temperature of the pools ranged between 38° to 40° celsius and the water was refilled constantly with fresh water from the thermal springs. The staff were all so friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome and cater to our needs. Everyone from housekeeping (bed decorations with rose petals and a towel shaped like an elephant), to pool bar staff (top notch margaritas), front of desk staff (friendly check-in with many personal touches), restaurant staff (coffee replenished efficiently during rush hour) and front gate security entrance guard (jokes and banter as we were welcomed back like old friends after each days outing). These little touches across the board point to excellent management from the top. We had a beautifully decorated room, incredible bathroom with state-of-the-art shower and luxurious natural spa bath products. We booked a couples massage at the Loto spa and both the facilities and masseuses were great! We thoroughly recommend this for a great start to the vacation. The location of the hotel is on the main road so you do get some traffic noise but the convenience of being able to easily drive into La Fortuna and the warmth and efficiency of the staff more than made up for this. Plus our room had amazing views of the volcano and it was quite something to wake up and watch the sunrise from our balcony with the volcano in front of us.

Everything was just perfect! The staff, animals, location, hot springs, food. We travelled with our 3 kids. Perfect spot for them also- in the check in the staff told all information about horse riding, collecting the eggs and when children can milk the cow. It was such a good experience for them, and for us also. Ps! We loved the omlette in the mornings, really good. All was clean and correct, the prices were acceptable, not overkilled. Ex. milksahkes, coctails and food- all was affordable on the site😊 We are gonna miss you guys and definitely when we are coming back to Costa Rica, we are 110% coming back to you. Thank you! The Gardens and birdlife were amazing. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The food at the restaurant was so delicious, and the complimentary breakfast was exceptional. The jacuzzis were beautifully relaxing, and pool was sparkling clean. The distance from town is several km and a steep walk up hill on your way back, so we hired a scooter to get around, which was good. The bed was comfortable. Amazing open air shower, and a lovely deck off of the room which looked out into the rainforest and gardens.

beautiful property with a short trail to walk. lovely pools and jacuzzis. The food was incredible as we ordered to the room a few times. The have a hotel taxi which took us into La Fortuna for additional cost which was great as well. we booked tours through the front desk and had incredible experiences! I highly recommend the Sloth Tour, the Arenal Volcano hike and the Coffee and Chocolate tour. I really enjoyed listening to all the wildlife around in the mornings and evenings, it was beautiful!

It is worth spending time in Fortuna.

It is worth spending time in Fortuna. Unfortunately it was raining, and I got influenza. Fortunately I got to do the hot springs, the hanging bridges and Rio Celeste before I started to feel really sick. I enjoyed the tours fully and shout out to the guides for their caring, and uplifting guidance. Fortuna is easy to get around and everything is within reach, including laundry, local travel agencies, and bus service for budget travelers, with route San Jose or Alejuela ( La Radial Terminal) - Cuidad Quesada - La Fortuna.

Our trip was mostly rejuvenation, health and to access the volcano and hot springs. We went to Arenal park and hiked the trail to the Volcano. We saw a Capibara but most other wildlife is best viewed in the early morning. There were a lot of orchids in bloom along the trails. Going to EcoTermales Hotspring was the highlight. It's a gorgeous naturally constructed spa with layered pools, waterfalls all built with stacked granite rockery, bridges and pathways connect the pools, and there's plenty of seating, an open bar that serves the best mixed drinks. The restaurant served fresh healthy assortment of seafood and meats with veggie dishes with dessert at Lunch. The water was fed from the natural hotspring, which was circulated , refreshed constantly with fresh volcanic water. Attention to the holistic elements of nature were throughout. Staff and Service were top notch.

The centre is not over touristified.

The centre is not over touristified. A few good supermarkets. A good variety of food options, with some good Sodas. A lot of accommodation to choose from. Nice Central Park. Many activities to choose from, and easy to get transport to them if you don’t have a car. The Mundo 12 zip lines can’t be missed.

We enjoyed the area and while we did a lot including driving...

We enjoyed the area and while we did a lot including driving to Monteverde for zipline tour, we chose one day of pampering rather than adventure so did not hike around Arenal or paddle board on Arenal. We did white water rafting between Puerto Viejo and Fortuna. We did waterfall repelling near Fortuna (amazing). The people are friendly and the area is lovely. We enjoyed a night time nature tour with our hotel (Noah's Landing) and Nayara Gardens was amazing. We saw plenty of sloths but so much more! We went to the Mistico hanging bridges on a rainy day which worked well-it did not matter. We also visited the Fortuna Waterfall (500 steps down-then 500 steps up but worth it!) If you like adventure- there is plenty. If you want to relax-it is a beautiful place to do so.
