We had the best time here! It’s run by the sweetest family who instantly make you feel at home. From the moment you arrive, with a big, cozy towel waiting for you, everything feels super thoughtful. Every morning, fresh coffee magically appears on your own little terrace, and if you’re in the mood you can treat yourself to a delicious breakfast too. The place is super clean, comfy, and full of good vibes. Such a chill and lovely spot.

Everything was perfect. The rooms were incredibly spacious, well decorated, bed was super comfy, great AC. The kitchen is super well equipped; even though we didn’t use it, I assume there is everything you might want or need. The pool was a wonderful addition on hot days! Wonderful small hotel. We had an apartment with kitchen, two bedrooms and a balcony right on the beach. The hotel had a nice restaurant for food and drinks. It was a 7 minute walk on the beach to restaurants in town.

    Our recent stay at this resort was nothing short of perfect. We spent 8 days here, and it was the first time all year I truly relaxed – I even slept a full 12 hours! This place is ideal for unwinding and recharging after a long stretch of hard work. The thermal pools, natural sauna, and cosmetic mud treatments made me feel as though I’d taken a trip to paradise; I left feeling rejuvenated and, honestly, about 10 years younger! My daughter loved the experience as well. She got to see so many beautiful birds, a real volcano, and a lush, green botanical garden. The entire staff, especially the team at reception, was incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel welcomed every step of the way. We’ll definitely be back. And to anyone concerned about the road, consider it a bonus adventure! It’s like a free jungle excursion with glimpses into local life – from domestic restaurants to schools and family homes. This is hands down the best resort we’ve ever visited. Thank you for the amazing experience!

    Great start to our honeymoon! The hotel grounds are beautiful. The hotel is close to nearby shops and restaurants and easy to walk into town. A good first place to stop after flying into Liberia airport. Although the hotel is on the edge of the city by a busy road, it doesn't affect your stay at all - you can't even tell once you're sitting on the balcony looking through the lush vegetation at the pool, which gives a nice foretaste of what the rest of the country is like. The place has a very authentic feel to it. The staff very much appreciate you attempting to speak Spanish. We really enjoyed the food here, great gallo pinto. Would definitely recommend.

    The staff were so amazing! They totally go out of their way to make sure you are happy and have everything you need! They upgraded us to an ocean front suite for free as soon as we arrived. The location is amazing, right on the beach to enjoy the beautiful water of Playa Hermosa. There are a couple of restaurants and shops just up the street. The atmosphere is so calm and peaceful. Truly pura vida. Thank you so much to the staff for all your hard work and for taking care of us during our time there! It was a wonderful last couple days to relax before heading home.

    Town is just big enough that there are lots of shops, restaurants, and things to do. Gorgeous beach also. But small enough that you can walk everywhere. It's a good base for the northwest area but doing a day trip to a volcano or other sights is hours each way.

    I would hope this helps people avoid Costa Rica, third world country, third world service, third word food and prices double almost every first world country, the airport and hotels charge 10 dollars for a 50 cent bottle of water

    Great town great beach.

    Great town great beach. Good supermarkets and friendly people in general. We met some locals through some friends and we were made to feel at home quite quickly. Nice place. Go to the Burger Window, (Google it) its in an open bar which has a few other eating stalls as well. A great curry shack too. But the burgers at Burger Window really are SUPERB. The service is quite non committal. There are few smiles and you can get put off by that. But listen, the burgers are worth the grief. Also try the crepes both savory and sweet at the little Ahora Si shop and then try the big Ahora Si restaurant further up the street. Both owned by the same family. Both very good choices. Ask for Antonio at the little Ahora Si crepe place

    The resort was nice, pool was refreshing.

    The resort was nice, pool was refreshing. No premium drinks, a bottle of Crown was $90, and only 1 brand of beer. The food at the buffet wasn't the greatest. Fish was dry, salad dressings were odd or just oil and vinegar. One day I had a poached egg and the yolk was hard and the whites were runny. French toast was hard and tough on the outside and soggy on the middle. You could only eat in the specialty restaurants once for every 3 days of stay.

    It is a good place to find a restaurant and nightlife. There are much nicer beaches close by if you are looking to enjoy the water and a nice sunset. Unfortunately the rising costs in Costa Rica are making it less desirable to visit. It is getting run down in many areas and the costs are climbing dramatically.

    Nosara is apparently one of the most expensive places in Central America, more expensive than the rest of Costa Rica, and the vibe is a bit weird - lots of wealthy travelers, $9 drip coffee, middle-aged white people mostly and lots of second-home mansions. We went to yoga at a resort that was $600/night and that seemed like no big deal for most of the American clients. However once we got to know the locals, learned to eat at local "sodas" instead, and realized the beach break is fantastic for surfing and protected so there's no beach vendors or beach bars, we had a great time. It's not a backpackers town, but it is very safe.

    We stayed at Hotel Velero right off the beach in Playa Hermosa. It was relatively quiet (in the best way!) compared to the neighboring Playa del Coco. The beach was clean, the sand was soft, and the temperature was great. We saw dolphins and great sea birds from breakfast at Hotel Velero. We also had dinner at Roberto's and La Casita del Marisco.     Playa Flamingo is an awesome destination, with a Marina, convenient nearby restaurants, grocery stores, beaches that will blow your mind. The people are friendly and love their country and culture. They are very proud of who they are and their culture which is family oriented. The food is the best and you have a varied selection of restaurants from beach side to the top of the mountain with scenic view you will never forget. What a wonderful county I would live there. We visited in May the beginning of the rainy season, however I believe it was the best time. The country comes alive, green and lush. The beached, restaurants are not overcrowded, if you have a rain shower it's gentle and mostly in the evening. My wife & I will definitely return. We met several Americans that have visited Playa Flamingo several times, then decided to live there. I'm telling you, go there, you will not regret a moment. We stayed at Splendor 360, which is I believe the highest accommodations in the area. Splendor 360's condos are amazing with views as they say, 360 degrees from the marina to the beaches. Thank you, Costa Rica, for one of the vacations we have experienced. Les & Linda Harris

    I was in Potrero for 3 nights alone on business.

    I was in Potrero for 3 nights alone on business. The location is quite and off the tourist map. There are a few local restaurants and bars, but not a lot going on. Its a great place to get away and relax, but pretty remote from all of the major destinations. There are other even more remote beaches just north of here that are worth visiting, so a few days here can be worth it.

    We did not originally plan to do the beach this trip, it was a cloud forest and volcano trip, we decided last minute to go the beach and chose Conchal beach as the place to go. Patagonia restaurant is a great Place for dinner.
