MexicoThe place was gorgeous. Our hosts were super nice. It was a little corner of paradise. I would clearly go back there anytime possible. We always had colibri flying around us when we were eating breakfast. The swimming pool was a bit cold, but it was so enjoyable that it wasn't a problem at all. You can go to the river nearby.

GermanyGreat Location near Lake Arenal. Joanne and Simon are the perfect hosts; during our stay they were always helpful and found answers to any question. We became friends!
They proposed best-fit daytrips that fit best with our interest: a cozy Hot Springs Spa resort, a Hanging Bridge tour and a horse back ride. Ahead phone calls were offered to secure availability.
The house restaurant was temporarily closed as the cook had just left. Manuel, owner of a small restaurant next door (25m) offered excellent local food and hosted us every night.
Best comes last: the home-made breakfast with fruit of the season, fresh juices and home made bread and cake! WOW!!!

CanadaI really enjoyed my stay here. I will definitely come back again if I was around. Wendy and her husband are so kind and helped me out a couple of time. Had some good conversations. The extra plus was with Mikey for the hiking around the area (ask Wendy for the experience). I had the possibility to plant a tree for a good cause. Excellent place and experience. My 'coup de coeur' so far in Costa Rica ✌️

SwitzerlandEverything was perfect, working, clean, and above expectations equipped. My first and so far only 10/10 stay. This is a jewel of a B&B. A true home feeling far away from home with the arenal adventures reasonably close and the best breakfast experience I had so far. Carlos is a super host, helping with all we needed, tour suggestions and reservations.
From the front porch we could observe an armadillo, an opossum, and a family of toucans. Nuevo arenal is peaceful, quiet, feels safe, and is child friendly. Lighted sidewalks, kids playground with two good restaurants next to it, and a quite clean and nice lake access nearby gave our kids a relaxing break of travelling during our 5-night stay at Casa Donna Rosa.
If we travel through Costa Rica again, we will definitely rebook.

I had the tent which was great with a comfy double bed, lockable wardrobe, and balcony. These tents aren't your normal camping experience. There is a small spa on site which was very relaxing. The area is on a eco farm which they are slowly increasing in size. The food was good all locally grown (much of it by themselves) vegetarian and organic. The staff were super friendly and helpful. When the clouds cleared what a stunning view of Arenal volcano and lake Arenal. I had such a relaxing time. It's about a 40 minute drive from la fortuna.Guest review byalexUnited Kingdom

Our trip was mostly rejuvenation, health and to access the volcano and hot springs. We went to Arenal park and hiked the trail to the Volcano. We saw a Capibara but most other wildlife is best viewed in the early morning. There were a lot of orchids in bloom along the trails. Going to EcoTermales Hotspring was the highlight. It's a gorgeous naturally constructed spa with layered pools, waterfalls all built with stacked granite rockery, bridges and pathways connect the pools, and there's plenty of seating, an open bar that serves the best mixed drinks. The restaurant served fresh healthy assortment of seafood and meats with veggie dishes with dessert at Lunch. The water was fed from the natural hotspring, which was circulated , refreshed constantly with fresh volcanic water. Attention to the holistic elements of nature were throughout. Not convenient for La Fortuna.
Not convenient for La Fortuna. It was a 20 min windy road drive each way. Nuevo Arenal was really noisy with dirt bikes and cars driving through. City has little to offer as far as food and entertainment.Guest review bytravisUnited States - 8.0

The town is beautiful and located in a beautiful lush area. There are cute little restaurants and sodas. The locals were very friendly.
