- From US$397.92 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 654 reviewsThis hotel is pristine clean, the facilities wonderful, and a lovely location right on the side of the lake. However, what makes the hotel even more wonderful is the staff; they were incredibly friendly and accommodating, delivering an excellent customer service throughout our stay. I think this is more appreciated as we were English and spoke hardly any German, and it was a predominantly German hotel (as we expected). This was the first stop on our Honeymoon, and they were wonderful on upgrading our room so that it had views of both the mountains and the lake, adding rose petals on the bed, they decorated the table formally for our first dinner, and as a farewell they gave us a bottle of sparkling wine. I particular want to identify two members of staff who were particularly lovely ; Lara who was on reception and greeted us to the hotel was very nice and made us feel very welcome. And Sören, who we believe was the restaurant manager, and who looked after us on both evening meals, and whose customer service was outstanding, ensuring we were comfortable the entire time.Guest review byMeganUnited Kingdom
- From US$278.67 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.0Very good - What previous guests thought, 1,387 reviewsBreathe taking views of the alps across the lake from the infinity pool never got tired! The staff were very helpful and entertaining. Great cocktails (the house cocktail - dirty rose was good). Good quality food (4 courses for £39 if booked in advance). The sauna with a view over the lake was wonderful (as was the overall spa, small but well designed). Booking a space on the private parking deck was very useful as it got busy parking on the road. The bar stocked over 100 gins! Cosy (fake) fur blankets. Being handed 2 bottles of water when we checked out.Guest review byAmyUnited Kingdom

Plus points for us was tesla charger included in cost, we are a family of vegetarians and vegans and we're well catered for. Ate in restaurant for 3 meals, all excellent with great service. Staff very friendly and helpful. We opted for a balcony room for one of us which was amazing with views of neuschwanstein Castle and the lake and mountains. 2 other rooms were without the view but were large and comfortable.Guest review bySarahUnited Kingdom

Only a 3 day visit, on way back to Bavaria from Italy & Switzerland. Nice beautiful town and very historic. Excellent hiking and numerous castle attractions to see. Very friendly atmosphere by all the locals in shops, pubs, restaurants, etc.Guest review byParkerUnited States - 10.0

I followed the tourist information office trail. There are a dozen buildings worth seeing. Because I was only there one night, I didn't have time to go in any but photos, especially of the Residenz interior look as if I would have loved a visit!Guest review byretiredgeoffUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Memmingen is a very nice smaller city and definitely worth visiting. The historic centre is only a five minute walk from the hotel or from the station/bus stop. The transport links close to the hotel are very easy to reach on foot (for train trips to Munich, for example). Overall Memmingen combines very interesting local history, very good shopping options, very good restaurants plus nice green spaces and friendly local residents.Guest review byThorstenUnited Kingdom - 10.0

This town in a valley within the Allgau Alps is out of a picture book. We came specifically for the "Almabtrieb" or the "Viehscheid," when the cows from upper pastures on the mountains are paraded down into the valley pastures for the winter. It is a super festive time in Alpine villages, and Obertsdorf really knows how to celebrate with music, beer, food, and all types of festivities. There are many beautiful shops in town, terrific places to eat and drink (everything from cafes to beer gardens to ethnic food), and a state of the art mountain gondola/lift that everyone should take whether for hiking, views, a short walk -- its absolutely breathtaking. This town is what life should be like everywhere. I would note that this town did not feel "touristy" even though there are many visitors to this town, but the tourism is largely cycling/hiking/skiing visitors, so that feels a bit different.Guest review byKimUnited States - 10.0

Excellent little Bavarian town. Surrounded by trails, mountains etc. If you don’t like quiet, then this is not for you. But Oberstaufen is located a short drive from the towns of Lake Konstanz and all the touristy things that you may require.Guest review byMarkUnited Kingdom - 10.0

The town is lovely for a walk and for viewing the painted buildings. You can also get some good beer. Prices are higher due to the proximity of the castle. The town is an ideal place to stay for visiting the castle or for hiking. The roads are well maintained, as are the cycling and hiking trails. Our visit was at the end of September, with slightly worse weather, so we did not experience any crowds.Guest review byTanja ŠtokarSlovenia - 2.0
[12:18] Orecny Peter Worst apt. where I was.
[12:18] Orecny Peter Worst apt. where I was. Dirty and smell. Key box on the ground behind trash can and you will be have a problem with open the key box, because of rust and in a rain also wet. Problem with parking and no internet connection. This place is for animal not for human. Dirty socks front of the door. Used dishes and leave it in kitchen. If you open the fridge, you have a fiiling that there died some animal, not for food. Best thing it was hole in the wall, where you can see out of the apt. and it was not possible to cover somehow. It was fck cold inside, because od this hole. The kitchen is unusable, I don't understand how they can rent it without cleaning, they leave a used fork there. Bathroom, same story, dirty, dust and mold. Go away from here. [12:18] Orecny Peter Nothing was good. I can only say, go away from here or do not make a reservation here. This apt. is really only for animal. Location, not good, problem with the parking. Not internet conection.Guest review byRadkaSlovakia - 10.0
I did not enter any of the castles or museums.
I did not enter any of the castles or museums. I had done that 50 years ago, as a student in Munich. I liked just walking around, soaking up the tourist vibe, predominantly Chinese. I even liked the rainy-sunny mix of weather, so characteristic of the Allgaue region.Guest review byDavidUnited States - 10.0
The accommodation suited me well.
The accommodation suited me well. I spent most days visiting local places of interest and particularly liked Lindau (on the Bodensee), Wangen im Allgäu, a fascinating old town with a brilliant market (Wednesdays), gorgeous old buildings and interesting street sculptures and fountains, as well as a very varied and entertaining museum, partly housed in the town walls. Lindau is well worth a visit and is quite elegant with a Mediterranean feel and some interesting shops, as well as the Old Rathaus and buildings round the buzzing harbour. Tettnang is also worth a visit if one is interested in history and architecture. An outing into the mountains further east is also worthwhile, with walks and other excursions (cable car) around the charming little town of Oberstaufen. Views of the Austrian Alps and the alpine flowers make it worth the effort, if you enjoy rambling. This is a good centre for a wide variety of activities.Guest review bySusanUnited Kingdom - 10.0
We LOVED Fűssen!
We LOVED Fűssen! The old charm feel, the energetic cafe night time vibe, the many walking/biking paths to explore the area and the quaint neighborhood charm made it a wonderful destination. I wish we stayed longer. We ate at Ludwig’s and sat in the Swan seats. The food was delicious and the inside decor was charming. We also rode our bikes to Neuschwanstein Castle which was 15-20 minutes away. There were so many bike paths throughout the area that we were able to visit many places on bikes.Guest review byAnonymous
