We were lucky we found a room as we only booked 6 days before traveling following recommendation of a friend. Amazing location next to the zoo where we spent our first day there with our 18 month old son. The area is busy but relaxed at the same time with cafes and restaurants and shops in a walking distance and easy access to the metro/tube which we also used. The hotel has a great restaurant and a bar. We only visited the restaurant for lunch (and also every morning for breakfast which was delicious with several options) as our son would probably not be allowed entry to the monkey bar but the cocktails looked amazing and there was a queue outside the hotel every night to visit the bar. The view from the restaurant/bar is also great as they are located on the 10th floor and look towards the zoo. We booked the XL urban room as it was the only one available at the time of booking and it was indeed quite large and we were very comfortable. I understand that other rooms have direct views to the zoo which we didnt have but we could still catch that view from the restaurant where we had breakfast and lunch so wasnt that important at the end of the day. I had also made several online orders and the receptionists were really friendly and had kept all of my parcels and delivered them to me on arrival without any complaints which was very helpful. We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. We got a room on the 16th floor with a stunning view of the city through the window. A big plus was the free parking – it was easy to find the entrance. The location is excellent – close to the metro, shops, and places to eat. If you're up for a walk, you can even reach some of the main attractions on foot. Berlin is a very beautiful and impressive city, lots of activities for couples and families, lots of historical sites despite the history. There are always shows and lots of museums, plenty of food from all different sources. Not boring at all.A city like Berlin is so beautiful that you really need to take a half-day guided tour to understand it. The apartment was in a quiet serene area. Walking distance to Helios Klinikum Berlin-Buch. Rewe supermarket within walking distance. Bustop right outside the apartment. Apartment was fully equipped and had all the amenities one may require. Cosy, clean and beautiful. Hot showers, comfortable beds, sun room. Great, accessible city with very good transport links. Recommend a travel pass for the trains/subways/buses /trams as there are quite complex ‘rules’ - validating tickets and range of choices is quite complicated. Nice place, a lot of things worth to see/visit. However, quite unpleasant is the area of the main station - it smells of weed, strange existences hanging around, annoying - one must not stop even for a while... immediately surrounded by them. Otherwise, Berlin, at least the center, looks very nice in autumn 👍 What was surprising to me, this central part, where the hotel was (in front of the Museum für Naturkunde) was very quite in the night...!
