- From US$274.21 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.6Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 642 reviewsone of my best hotel experiences. I understand how hard it is to maintain a hotel, let along in a historical building. The check in process was a big surprise, staff welcomed us so friendly and attentively, even when we check in very late, all the details inside the room, nice and warm, great view on balcony, the beautiful room key, heart warming welcome letter, spotless bathroom, well selected amenities(love the homemade shower gel), I felt like stepped into centuries ago. The moment I stepped on the staircase made me realized how fragile and precious this place is, it's a privilege to have the opportunity to stay here. The breakfast is tiniest yet the best that I ever had, food are fresh and well made, food counter is nicely displayed with the generous variation of food and drinks. I personally love the dining area, where gave me a peace of mind, I spent 2 hours having breakfast and enjoyed it every much. Also, there's a most beautiful smoking room in Germany, next to the most beautiful lady's room in the fireplace area. I will love to come again in spring to enjoy the castle garden, where is a hidden gem of this hotel. Photos can be spoilers for this castle hotel, just go and experience it. You will love it like I do.Guest review byLeonieTaiwan
- From US$151.50 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 549 reviewsI recently had the pleasure of staying at Weingut Magdalenenhof and I must say, it was a delightful experience from start to finish. The rooms were charmingly decorated and exuded a cozy atmosphere. The working facilities were top-notch, allowing me to stay productive during my visit. Upon entering, the wine and liquor shop immediately caught my attention with its diverse selection and fun atmosphere. The restaurant was wonderfully cozy, and the food was absolutely delicious, exceeding my expectations at every meal. And of course, the highlight of my stay was the breathtaking view of the vineyard, which provided a serene backdrop to my time at the Weingut. Overall, I highly recommend Weingut Magdalenenhof for anyone looking for a perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and culinary delights amidst stunning natural surroundings.Guest review byBarbaraBelgium

Altstadt and Deutsche Ecke, cable cart over the Rhine to castle, Altes Brauhaus. Options to make Rhine/Mosel cruise (from 1-3 hrs). Many nice restaurants and (whine)bars. Live music in cafe Hahn, Irish pub and some other locations (check locally). Good public transport (for e.g. to go to cafe Hahn or to Oktoberfest). Pitty that renting a simple bike is not so easy (not so many options, no guided bike tours offered, renting a bike is usually an electric bike, not cheap). If you want to make a bike tour, bring bike yourself. Also usefull to use instead of local transportation. And borders of the Mosel or Rhine are nice to make a bike tour.Guest review byBearke_MNetherlands - 10
It is a great town with lots to do along the Rhine.
It is a great town with lots to do along the Rhine. If you are looking for something less sleepy and has more shopping, restaurants and winery this is a great option. All ferries/cruises stop here so it is easy to get to as well. One thing to note is that it gets crowded with the larger river cruises stop for the day or night but we didn't mind as it added a fun energy to the town and the shops were open.Guest review byMeganUnited States - 8.0
A great base for exploring this part of the Rhine.
A great base for exploring this part of the Rhine. Only basic impressions as this was a stop over night en route between Bavaria and the UK. Atmospheric market place, guesthouse just a few steps away and excellent bakery for breakfast made up for a largely rainy night. Would definitely be a candidate for further exploration in the area.Guest review byAshley WilliamsUnited Kingdom - 10

Its a small Rhine River town with a nice selection of stores. It's quiet and an old castle you can walk or drive up to. It's a great small town to take a break within short dive to explore other Rhine towns north and south of St Goar.Guest review byPeterUnited States - 8.0

Remagen was convenient for me for an overnight st, coming by train from Edinburgh on the day, and likewise as an overnight stop on the last day of my holiday. All travel was, of course, by train. On my first visit I had to visit 'the bridge'. A very historic place.Guest review byAlex BomphrayUnited Kingdom - 10

Bad Ems in late September is a very quiet small town in a beautiful setting along the Lahn river. It has a lot of history in the Spa- business, quite a few impressive buildings remind of the past when crowned heads and other celebrities came here. In the direct vicinity there a plenty of hiking trails. Many interesting spots for day trips nearby: Koblenz, Drachenfels, the Rhine- and Mosel valleys with castles, the Loreley, wine tasting, the Maria Laach lake, Lava Dome in Mendig.Guest review byHenkNetherlands - 10
Bingen is touristy.
Bingen is touristy. This is not a place for people who are looking for solitude. The ferry takes you straight to Rüdesheim and you can explore the vineyards from there. In the city you can find restaurants, butchers, bakeries and shops. The city is safe and friendly.Guest review byChristophGermany - 10
The village is beautiful. The people are friendly.
The village is beautiful. The people are friendly. The river cruise was short, but we already knew that. The whole area was a great setting for exploring both the Rhine valley and the Mosel valley. Their local food and wines are excellent.Guest review byJamesUnited States - 10

The catles on the Rhein and Moselle were fascinating. Especially good is Marksburg. Koblenz is quite large so there was quite a lot of walking. The city centre still feels like a destination - no boarded-up shops!Guest review byGarethUnited Kingdom - 8.0

The town is a tourist magnet, but for those who know the Rheingau also a Mecca, neighbouring Gesienheim has the University where many Rheingau wine makers will have studied. The whole Rheingau is within reach, the steep Rüdesheim vineyards above the town are wonderful and peaceful for walking, those with less energy can take the chairlift. We tried the Spanish restaurant near the Bahnhof and Breuer's Schloss restaurant opposite (4 metres away) from the Hotel Lindenwirt where we stayed and also ate and drank. They had some nice (think craft) alco free beers.Guest review byDr. MichaelGermany
