Toledo was not an option, it was extremely expensive at the time. We didn't check the description too carefully, I repeat, we were in a hurry, we just wanted to sleep. The price was too good to think too much. The surprise was even greater when we arrived and discovered the resort. Excellent. Excellent! If we have the opportunity, we will come back with pleasure, for a longer stay. It seems in the middle of nowhere, but the view when waking up, with the sun, with the olive field, was very comforting. Although it wasn't in the plan and we weren't hungry, we went to the restaurant in the evening (after a short visit to Toledo). Very good dinner, and the white wine recommended by the chef (Albariño wine) went to the soul (it's a Romanian expression, I hope it's ok for you too :)) P.S. We took a taxi into Toledo which cost 10 euros each way for 4 of us. The hotel booked it for us and we picked it up outside the hotel. Toledo is beautiful, so full of history. The room was very nice and clean and bed was very comfortable. We ate dinner in the hotel which was very good, our waitress was brilliant but can't remember her name.... and breakfast was also very good.. But.... depending on the time of the year and the night of the week you may find no restaurants/cafes/food options open in town. It’s a gorgeous city, walkable and with precious views. For a one day trip or a two-day if you want to properly stroll through the streets and visit every corner like I decided to do. Consuegra is a good location to visit the windmills and castle above the town and they are very well worth a visit. There is not a great deal of choice of hotels in the town and with the benefit of hindsight I would have visited the windmills and castle in the morning and then had lunch near the Plaza España at restaurant Gaudy which is absolutely terrific. There are very few bars in Consuegra and the only 2 we found did not open until 20.00 hours or later in the evening. While there are a good number of restaurants open for lunch they are mainly closed in the evenings, certainly during the week.
