- From $293.08 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Excellent - What previous guests thought, 646 reviewsI recently stayed at Domaine de Verchant, and it was truly one of the best experiences of my life. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the serene surroundings and the historic charm of the property. The hotel is perfectly situated just outside Montpellier, in a peaceful and quiet area, providing an ideal escape from the bustle of the city. The gardens and beautifully preserved historic buildings transport you to another century, making the entire experience magical. The mattress was absolutely heavenly – it gave me the best sleep of my life! The room was meticulously designed, combining modern comforts with timeless elegance. The staff were absolutely amazing – attentive, friendly, and genuinely dedicated to making my stay unforgettable. Their hospitality added a special touch to the entire experience. Lots of wonderful monuments and historical buildings to visit. Transport system excellent once you have got used to it. Clean and comfortable. A multitude of cafes to choose from. A vibrant city with lots of young people but no trouble. A lot of dog waste though unfortunately.Guest review byBarbaraUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Carcassonne is a beautiful city with lots of fabulous restaurants and lively bars as well as the historical epicentre inside the castle walls (Citè) itself which was my favourite part! We went as couples but there was alot of families there also both young children with options for them too. Highly recommend the Cassoulet and some local wines 🍷 we would love to return againGuest review bySusanIreland - 10.0

Lovely little gem of a town, lots of medieval history and a good food and drinks scene. People are really friendly and a lot speak a bit of English if your French isn’t very good! It’s a very walkable town as well, and I recommend the little train tour to give you some history and context for the place.Guest review byCarolineUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Love the wide avenues, the incredible Roman sites and museum. Paradoxically I wasn't able to extend my stay because of the Feria - a giant oarty involvingvthe whole city and booking out all but the most expensive rooms. Regrettably the arena was closed on the lastv2 days I was there because of the Feria.🥲Guest review byMacleodAustralia - 10.0

We were touring around by train so did not stay long. Narbonne is a small but interesting city. A good base to visit other places. We went to Carcassonne and planned to go to the coast but there was a strike so as we didn’t have a car we explored Narbonne instead.Guest review bySueUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Beziers is a beautiful city but it is very hilly.
Beziers is a beautiful city but it is very hilly. The historic city centre is at the top of the hill but the station is at the bottom so it's a steep climb with your luggage. The food market was voted the most beautiful in 2025 and is definitely worth a visit. There are several restaurants around the market and I can recommend La Johane. The food and the service were excellent. The cathedral is very imposing and, being at the top of the hill, gives a great view over the surrounding countryside. The restaurant Les Bons Amis is near the cathedral and I had a wonderful meal there.Guest review byBarbaraUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Cap d‘Agde is very nice destination with plenty of yacht ports and a few different beaches nearby. You can find there both restaurants, shops and disco clubs. Many small apartments with some with swimming pools. Big Aquapark and paid swimming pool are also in the area. There are buses to Agde and Gare where you can change to another bus to the airport but they do not go very often. Generally I do recommend.Guest review byOlgaUnited Kingdom - 10.0
What a beautiful place.
What a beautiful place. Set between the coast and a massive lake it's idyllic. The shops, market, cafe's and restaurants are excellent - so much choice. There's also a lot events going on here - shows, concerts and festivals. We hired a boat to explore the water ways which was excellent fun. We had a superb 8 day stay and would highly recommend it.Guest review bySarahUnited Kingdom - 8.0

La Grand Motte is pleasant and has numerous bars and cafes. The beach area is clean and looked after. It's not the most sophisticated seaside town but it's probably got something for most people.Guest review byLenUnited Kingdom - 10.0
It is a nice town with a beautiful beach.
It is a nice town with a beautiful beach. It has a very relaxing and positive feel to it. Most of the tourists are French families. I found locals to be welcoming. We really enjoyed taking the tour train around the area and had fun. Be sure to visit the beautiful town centre. There are many charming little shops and vibrant outdoor markets.Guest review byJung-EunIreland
