Worst host and room I have ever seen.
Worst host and room I have ever seen. They present everything beautifully, but on the inside it is downright filthy. Hair in the bed from previous visitors, dirty footprints on the stairs, clearly not vacuumed, mold everywhere. No form of ventilation possible, so even if you wanted to stay here, you actually can’t stay here because of your health. When we reported this to the host, we basically got the answer that we should clean it ourselves if we thought we could do it better. He also said that the lack of ventilation would not cause any harm. Additionally, they are not reachable by phone and do not respond to the emails sent via Booking, which also shows no willingness to cooperate in any way. We already stayed once before & we were very happy to visit again. We were upgraded to a privilege double room & it was lovely. The staff were friendly as usual- Honore gave us a nice welcome at check-in. Restaurant was really pleasant- we were outside in their garden. Food also tasty. Breakfast worked well this time too! La Parcelle was a fantastic place to stay. It has been beautifully restored by the owner, who was on site and catered to all our needs. Great for short or business trip. Not ideal for week or more stay. Not much around and restaurant only open from about 7pm and not open every evening. Easy to find and get to, not far from main roads. Good 5 minute drive by car to find any shops, maybe more to find a takeaway. 10 minutes plus 1 night to find a pizza shop! Supermarkets 10-15 minutes drive away. Kettle in room, but we bought some new mugs as only had small cup. Bathroom was clean and good shower. Bed ok, but not great pillows. Close to Tourcoing station, Quick Burger nearby for late arrival but make sure you get correct order before leaving premises as staff seem dippy, we ordered burgers/frites, got to hotel and discovered no burgers, went back and were presented with another bag, when got back to hotel discovered it was only frites, still no burgers but too tired to return again so 18 euros for chips was quite expensive!!
