I liked the history of the site, and its kind owner. There are deers in the (very large) park and it was great to go observe them with the kids. There are also games inside for the rainy days!

The property was beautiful. There were acres for walking and bike riding. Our garden room had outdoor seating. there were many indoor rooms for relaxing or drinking. Rooms are spacious, well organized and uncluttered. 2-Everything was clean and well maintained. 3-Staff was friendly, welcoming and helpful; both evening and morning shifts were equally pleasant. 4-Location is convenient to freeway and parking is behind gates that are closed overnight - great sense of security when parking on the premises. 5-Excellent value for product and level of service offered. Breakfast was great as well! Highly recommended for overnight or short-duration stays. Economic, clean and practical facilities. We will use again.

All the staff were very helpful, especially our favourite, Pierre. Our room over looked a small fairly quiet square. Saturday there was a very large market that is a must see. It appeared to be a recently renovated building. There is a bar run by the hotel with inside seats and outside seats on the square. Great location.

    We loved our ocean facing room. Our second room was okay but across the building and down the hall. I was hoping to be closer to our second room (our kids are 8 and 13). We had to get 2 rooms because they didn’t have quads available. For Europe, the rooms were a good size. We were on the 6th floor and had a balcony off each room (please note they are lovely, but you can’t fit a chair on them like many balconies in Europe). Coffee was good and location is awesome. On the beach (you have to cross one road and you’re on the boardwalk). Every restaurant and cafe is walking s Distance and the Bac is just steps away. Beds were very comfortable. The older, stylish lady was lovely at every interaction at reception. She was very happy and helpful.

    We stayed here for 5 days four nights. It was a great location. We could walk for ice cream or dinner everyday and every night. I went to the beach often and found seaglass and really pretty stones. We had a couple massages that were great. We enjoyed the upstairs patio where we could lay out and read our books. The bartenders are very friendly and enjoyed having a drink every night.

    This is a jewel that we were so lucky to find. We had the top floor suite which was lovely. The dinner in the downstairs restaurant was a highlight of our trip and the breakfast (brought to our suite in the most adorable picnic basket ) was wonderful! In a very busy, tourist packed village, this was a much needed breath of fresh air.

    Cute, quaint little town for a couple days. I had never heard of it before this trip, wasn't expecting to like it so much. Walking the historic streets, browsing the shopping, the old Wooden church, it was a great couple days.

    I was in Deauville for the Bridge Festival, so chose the location for that reason. However, I would say that some of the restaurants in Deauville are not great value or quality and prefer to eat in Trouville where there is better choice and value in my opinion. It is all down to personal taste, obviously many wealthy Parisians and foreign visitors like to be in Deauville, for the beach and top hotels. Relative to Trouville it is quite smart, but Trouville is more lively and overall more interesting. Next time, I will stay in Trouville although it is more of a walk to the casino.

    We arrived in late afternoon at hotel and toured island first in evening hours - great idea as less crowded and still light enough to wander the streets and alleys. Toured the abbey the next morning - around 11. Already getting crowded - should have started earlier. But well organized and flows well within the Abbey. Well worth the visit to see this unique and historic structure - magical.

    Beautiful town, great location to take a trip to Normandy beaches. The tapestries were moved to the UK and the Tapestry museum closed on Sept 1st for two years! Most restaurants were closed on Sunday and Monday and you definitely need a reservation for dinner if you want a good meal. some restaurants were closed on Tuesday too! If you take a full day tour of Normandy I would suggest staying the night at Bayeux because there is traffic at the end of the day heading back to Paris.

    Stay in good hotel, explore other towns around. Beside the great rock this town failed in management. The casino is old and dirty, kebab and other american food brakes the charm. Typical case of.... The good old times. Local politics , bring back the charm..... and please clean the fuck up! STay one or two days in hotel there as great location to explore around!

Lovely views, next to the harbour and sea, great choice of restaurants, although we are addicted to Le Tout Va Bien, which suits us perfectly. The only downside at the moment is that the main bridge for easy access to the sea front and harbour is closed. I gather work is 10 months behind schedule, and the tortuous diversion for motorists is very poorly signposted..:(

    Cherbourg is dominated by a huge harbour where your ferry comes in. The town itself is long from east to west, spreading out from the harbour. From north to south it is much smaller. The harbour area and the promenades are worth walking around and the central area at the Place Charles de Gaulle is the best area to relax in. It's also the ideal town from which to see other nearby attractions, such as a D-Day beach, the Bayeux Tapestry and Mont-St-Michel, all of which I visited. One word of warning - the French railway service isn't the best. The trains are subjected to many cancellations and delays and the ticket machines in the stations frequently refuse to give you a ticket! Railway problems aside, the town of Cherbourg and other parts of Normandy are worth a holiday and I'm so glad I went.
