We didn't visit Reading.
We didn't visit Reading. We went a day before and a night after to Hanley-on-Thames with children. It was hardly 20-25 minutes drive and it was great outdoor activities combo area with various playground/ bouncy castle and riverside walk, various options available for boat hiring/ boat trips. Parking is quite tight in later hours of day, so I recommend if anyone like to visit here, try to reach in first half otherwise all two car parks get full too soon.Guest review bySwati - 10

I always time my journey to the best earliest to try & avoid build up of traffic if driving in .once you have confirmed the Hotel you are staying in search ahead the day where you might eat .. get the most out of visit to Windsor Castle by having the head phones for in depth information on your trip around including St George’s Chaple the little shops there always delight with a gift or 2 to take home .. check out Runnymede Magna Carta just 20 minutes drive down the way & make a few hours to take in the HISTORY This should be as much fUN as The Castle -Explore old Windsor just across the river .. Loved the outlook from room.
Loved the outlook from room. Although lake wasn’t quite as near as expected. Loved the geese especially flying in in the morning. Didn’t stay long but enjoyed afternoon walk around Newbury with coffee and cake in tearoom on canal side.Guest review bykarinUnited Kingdom - 10
I love bracknell because of its lovely shopping centre.
I love bracknell because of its lovely shopping centre. The fact that it's quiet and peaceful. It's close to Ascot which is a place I love. It's a train ride away from the heart of london, in less than an hour you're there. There are some lovely park there. I thoroughly enjoyed staying there.Guest review byTambini - 6.0

My room was mid souterrain with a quite busy road at the level of and 1.5 meters from my window. 26 degrees Celcius in the room that could not be changed. Got a new room at the same level which slowly got too warm too. Breakfast OK.Guest review byAndrewUnited Kingdom - 8.0

It would have been helpful for the restaurant to have sent the account to reception for checkout. We asked if there was anything left to pay and were told it was settled via booking.com. Perhaps if we had been asked for a credit card at check-in rather then we would not have been chased for payment of the meal some days later. Despite this - the food and hotel stay were greatGuest review byMarkNew Zealand - 8.0
Nice town.
Nice town. Have visited a few pubs/restaurants there over a few years. Always good food/friendly atmosphere. Decent golf course nearby (Sonning) which is usually my reason to visit each year.Guest review byMick MarleyGuernsey - 10

This trip was a trip down memory lane as I was a student on Randolph-Macon Woman's College program at the University of Reading, 1975-76. I was last in Reading, July 2001. The University has obviously grown & changed, but the neighborhood around the Whiteknights Gate remains somewhat the same. Shout out to The Three Tuns, where the RMWC girls frequented. The historical sites in Reading are well worth exploring as are the surrounding areas, such as Sonning, Woking.Guest review byCate WinUnited States
