AMAZING hotel! We received a lovely warm welcome from Victoria and Liam on arrival. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was sublime - beautifully decorated with picturesque views across the countryside. Subtle sound of a radio playing classic FM in the bedroom and lovely smelling handwash were extra nice touches. Comfy beds. Exceptional breakfast. It was a perfect night's stay and we can't wait to return!

Gorgeous historic building in countryside that is all you could imagine of the North Yorkshire Dales. Spacious and gracious, it's thoughtfully set out with appointments fitting for a period building. Breakfast was excellent, and the staff are friendly and obliging. We loved it, and wish we could have stayed longer!

I liked it because the views are stunning and that it was a running farm. What, in my opinion, was the hard pillows. I used the bath towels as pillows. I think there should be a choice of hard or soft pillows.

Settle is a picturesque village with lots of shops, pubs, cafes and independant stores. There are lots of scenic walks from the village centre. The Golden Lion is excellent for a meal and drink. The other bars are all friendly and prices are reasonable.

We should have booked somewhere else after working out the windows didn’t lock but gave the hosts the opportunity to resolve. They didn’t bother and I doubt it’s resolved now. New windows are really needed to resolve the issues. The accommodation was lovely and clean and beds were comfortable decor lovely and kitchen fully fitted out. It’s just a shame the windows didn’t lock and it faces into a car park. View was non existent. Wouldn’t stay again, was so tired when leaving because couldn’t sleep properly.

Visiting a nearby event, we were very late arriving (10pm) but the manager went out of his way to enable us to still be able to check in. Even let us in 30 minutes early for breakfast too as we were leaving at 8.15am. Everything you could want for breakfast and the rooms were very well presented and very clean. Only wish we were staying longer.

Clapham is a beautiful and tranquil village, perfect for anyone looking to escape the city life. Surrounded by hills, scenic walking trails, and lush greenery, it offers a refreshing connection to nature that’s hard to find elsewhere. The village itself has a charming, timeless feel with stone cottages, a gentle stream running through the centre, and a welcoming community atmosphere. It's also a great base for exploring nearby natural attractions like Ingleborough Cave and Gaping Gill, making it a popular spot for hikers and nature lovers.

A lovely village setting which encouraged peaceful vibes.

A lovely village setting which encouraged peaceful vibes. The well cared for nature of the village showed its intent. The Waddington arms was a late booking by us and proved way beyond our expectations. Great food especially the local dishes and a roaring fire to boot. The church was worth the visit as saw 3 sets of stained glass dedicated to women which is most unusual! Loved the local history readily available.

It was a place to stay not a place to visit! Its location was good. It has a railway station for those who could not drive there but you really need a car to get out of the village to visit more scenic areas.

The lodge is immaculately presented, equipped with everything you need for a short break. It is obvious that the owners take great pride in their property and this is reflected in the quality of the little extras they provide, hand lotion, luxury towels, coffee maker , candles etc. It's location is 2 minutes walk from the main reception which houses a fantastic indoor heated pool and a bar which has separate areas for family, Sky etc. It's a perfect place for a short stay. We had our 2 daughters with us (age 8 & 10) who asked when can we go back? We hadn't even left yet !!! All in all, its pretty hard to fault giving the accommodation's cleanliness and location

Disappointing.

Disappointing. The shops were well overpriced for the location. Didn't see any customers in them, either going in or out. A bit over rated Traffic in the centre was exceptionally busy for the size of the area.
